Roundup: Lions rebound in consolation

PHILADELPHIA— Stanley Pringle scored 16 points and Taylor Battle had 15 and a career-high nine assists in leading Penn State to a 78-54 win over Towson in a consolation round game of the Philly Hoop Group Classic at the Palestra. Jamelle Cornley had 13 points and Andrew Jones a career-best 13 rebounds for the Nittany Lions (6-1), who faced Towson for the first time. Troy Franklin had 12 points to lead the Tigers (3-3), who shot 20-for-68 in the game. A 14-3 run at the start of the second half gave the Lions a 54-27 advantage, and two free throws by Jones pushed the lead to 64-34 at the 10:57 mark. Justin Drummond hit four free throws in the final minute and finished with 15 points while Joey Mundweiler had 19 points for Wagner in an 83-79 victory over Bucknell. Doug Elwell scored 11 points, Michael Orock finished with 10 rebounds and seven points and Drummond hit all nine of his free throws for Wagner (4-1). Patrick Behan scored 27 points, G.W.
