Vice President Joe Biden took time Sunday to reflect on his own Little League Baseball experience as a youngster, while being inducted into the Peter J. McGovern Little League Museum’s Hall of Excellence. Biden and Chris Drury, captain of the National Hockey League’s New York Rangers, were enshrined on the field at Howard J. Lamade Stadium prior to the start of the 63rd annual Little League Baseball World Series championship game. “Before we get to a great championship game, we’re taking our time to honor one of our own,” Stephen D. Keener, president and CEO of Little League International, said of Biden. “His values of fairness, courage and dedication to something much larger than himself were instilled when he played in Green Ridge Little League (in Scranton).” Those values taught him the perseverance to get back up when knocked down, Keener said, which took Biden to the second-highest office in the natio.
