Given the comments about Steve Johnson, it's no surprise that he partnered with Penn College's president.

Yes, congratulations Steve Johnson on increasing our unemployment lines. I know of several long-term, loyal employees who were 'let go' this year and several more who have worked 40 or more years with the hospital and were either forced to retire early or dropped down to part-time. The People of the Year should be the remaining employees that actually WORK with patients.

It is commendable that so much work and renovation is being done. However if there is no consideration given to how the staff is treated, the quality of care given, and the lack of leadership you can renovate all you want and it won't make any difference. The management has no involvement with the staff, and refuses to address issues. I know this as I was fired 2 weeks before Christmas during my orientation to this hospital, and nobody from management would speak to me as to why, I was given reasons which were childish lies. After working for 30 years at a magnet, world class hospital elsewhere, you can make this hospital as pretty as you want, but it means nothing when staff is denied breaks, meals, legitimate overtime, a structured orientation and the ability to speak with management when there is a problem. Steven Johnson and Susan Duchman ignored my requests to discuss these issues, and why I was fired- because I still do not know why. Man of the year.....I think not.
