One, it isn't just my son's corporation. Major companies have been discussing either cut back to part time or raising costs to employees to cover their costs.
Two, my husband's employer also is going to raise the cost to the employees.
You work, your wife works, as do many. But the left has yet to explain to any of those on the right...how the coverage for those who don't have it will be garnered. Someone has to pay for it. I'm not disputing that your health benefits haven't gone up. That's not to say they won't next year.
But rmiller, mine has not gone up that much and I have excellent health benefits. Where my wife works she also has excellent health benefits but chose to go under my plan, also the price for hers is about the same. So me thinks someone is pulling the wool over someones eyes.
Actually, I don't think this is a 1% Co advantage. My son has an excellent pkg., but the carrier/prep for Obamacare is what is happening. This is a huge co and extends to Hartford, which he travels to sometimes two to three times a week. His company has told them this is because of the Obmacare kicking in 2014. My husband works for a company located in Montoursvile. They figure the cost of an employee's health coverage will go up $1.00 per hour, per employee. Rick, bottom line...those who work will pay for those who don't/won't. BTW, my sons share at $110.00 every two weeks is only 25% of the total figure. Rick, the new health coverage for everyone has to come from somewhere...I can't believe that even the brighter libs like yourself thought it would magically appear from nowhere.
Mine did not double, in fact it hasn't doubled since Obama took office. It went up but not doubled. Sounds like the top 1% in your son's company want more money.

Hmmmmmm...Obama said everyone could MAINTAIN the health-care they (already) have...and, now...you're complaining about THAT???
It's quite possible your son needs to get a "little"-more proactive about developing his OWN plan, rather than being babysat by his employer.

Every "WORKING man's" wages have been stagnating since the early '70s!!!!
You faux "History Majors" don't get to rewrite the past, no matter HOW entitled you feel.
So if big business raises the prices that is just business and therfore it is OK? My healthcare has been going up steadly since 1981. Before that my employer paid it all. It is delusional to say Obama is the culprit now. Just because many on the right feel he is the anti Christ don't blame him for everything. Rmiller, you and your followers of FOX and PTL are the ones who are bent on destroying this country.
"You do know rmiller health insurance co pays have been going up for years, long before Obama."
Uhhhhhh don't hedge this one,,,guys...he is bent on destroying this country and n matter what arguments you put forth, the economists speak differently. Obviously neither of you read my post and the figures. BTW, the health insurance that is going up? My son's portion is only 25% of the entire pkg, for one family...do the numbers. Yes, heath insurance is going up and ha been for years, and yes the carriers are culpable....but that's business. Whereas Obama has a motive and while insurance rates have climbed...those not wishing to participate weren't fined. Quit trying to mask the enormity of this dangerous bill to our country.
I agree with Gavin and Chayes, Social Security was never meant to be your sole income at retirement. Unfortunately, for many, it is just that. I see it from the side of someone close to me who lives on $900/month social security and who pays that same monthly insurance premium. They just didn't have the money to put back and didn't work anywhere who paid a pension. I feel for the people who try to live like that, but SS was never meant to be their only income.
You do know rmiller health insurance co pays have been going up for years, long before Obama. When I first started working I paid nothing, the comany paid it all and that was a mom and pop company. Maybe we should look at the private insurance companies as the problem.
I too am surprised at your comment in concurring with Hayes...
SSI is all my parents have...gee...my Mom didn't retire until she was 70 and her husband until a year later. They paid into that for years. Actually, Hayes comment (not surprisingly) is cold.
My son, who lives in Ct. just received notice (I posted this info. on another post) from a rather large company he works for that his health premiums will double starting next month. He will be paying $110.00 every two weeks and his deductible just went from $1000.00 to $5000.00 starting 2014. Who knows what his health premiums will be in 2014, if they are doubling effective this month. He also is a Pastor and the small church pays him an extra (small albeit) wage. So, thank you Obama...you are changing this country one dollar at a time from every working person of every walk of life. You reward dependence on the state and punish the worker...quite the liar you are...
"Some of us believe a person shouldn't go broke just because they get sick."
Well if you have no insurance and no money just what do you propose to do? The right feels go ahead and get sick just don't expect me to pay for it. Funny about the right, when it affects them they change their tune.

I think you are wrong but time will tell.
