Bobbie - there are plenty of us in your 51% who are paying in, in every respect. You seem to think we get some reward. We don't, except listening to the drivel of fools. I agree that much of the pork should go, however, those matching funds are necessary in some services we all use everyday. I'm wondering how many here are or will collect Social Security or are willing to take only what they paid in. Not one of you paid in the amount you will take.

"It is we the electorate that must make the hard choice, not our politicians." - Jude Richardson

How "hard" of a choice is it, insisting that legislation/laws are voted-upon (in Congress), on their OWN MERIT; i.e. ZERO "riders"??!!! Typically, that's where additional-spending is hidden...and, more-than-likely why politicians make every effort to INCLUDE "riders"!!

End the pork and earmarks and live within your means.

Those little gifts you refer too is the grease that helps government move. If you havd seen the movie Lincoln you would have seen it played out. This is where the hypocrisy of others comes in. The other guy is taking pork while the accuser is bringing home the bacon.

Live within their means. That is not what you mean. You demand more and more from government but you are not willing to budget for it. By you I mean people.

The question you(the person) should be asking is, is my represenative acting in our best interests or are they acting in their own best interests?

Phil: I guess we're "forced" once an action becomes federal law. But I'll bet that many federal laws would not have been enacted if it weren't for the distribution of pigs.

Good letter Jude, except Ponzi Schemes are voluntary and we’re forced into government programs.
