Editor...Clearly there is not one thing that anyone can do to stop this type of violence. Everyone says the same thing...on TV,the internet and around the table. As long as you have 2 (or more) people that can't resolve issues, have an unstable personality, use drugs, owe money to dealers or loan sharks, have access to weapons...on and on...this type of violence will ALWAYS be part of any society. Unfortunately, it gets LOTS of press here in the USA and lots of air time...you know...media...spread the cheer. Certainly that is a BIG part of this problem! Otherwise..it will be here as long as humans walk the earth.

"Are drugs, alcohol and computer brainwashing a part of it?"

*

Possibly.

Another could be the "conservative"-driven John Wayne/everyone-needs-a-gun agenda, as well.

(computer-brainwashing??????????)

Put up some*****cameras around the city and in heavy crime areas specifically. Put up more street lighting in areas that are poorly lit. Doesn't help that the suspects can never be identified. This is nothing but a bunch of ******** and excuses.

MrShaman alias John Hilfilthy.....Chicago has the strictest gun laws in the USA and has the highest crime rate in the USA...the USA needs to vigorously enforce the laws on the books....not create new ones!!

A national news program had a piece on video games and violence. A mother was interviewed and she was so passive about the fact her young boys were playing a very violent video game...just didn't get it! Part of the problem...parents NOT parenting!

...ESPECIALLY when gun-show rules/laws (still) trump Federal-laws, right??

Yeah...who needs the "inconvenience" o' consistency, when there are major-buck$ to be made ("accommodating" the paranoids).

Jane gilmores comment patting her police force on the back was good for a laugh, 20 break ins at the college over Christmas break, thugs are running that college area and her police force does not have a clue.
