Jeremy Moses-"can you honestly look in the mirror and say that the murder of twenty school children is morally identical to twenty abortions?"

Yes, killing children is killing children.

I absolutely DO mourn when I think of the thousands of children killed each day by abortion.

"January 11, 2013 One recent letter writer attacked President Obama for hypocrisy because despite his response to the Newtown shootings, he supports "the killing of thousands of unborn babies" in the form of legal abortions..." How about "the killing of MILLIONS of unborn babies as compared to 20 children?"

Killing children IS killing children. Aborting a fetus is not killing a child which, according to definition is a young human being below the age of full physical development or below the legal age of majority. A fetus is not a child or a human being or an individual yet.

Jeremy Moses makes a valid point regarding the undermining of honest dialog with emotion rather than fact driven rhetoric.

That same emotional self-centered rhetoric undermines intelligent dialog and is used to promote the civilian ownership of weapons designed to kill as many humans/children as possible as quickly as possible. Promote weapons designed to kill fully developed humans of any age yet oppose the termination of a fetus that is not yet a baby/child/person/individual? Where is the sense in that juxtaposition?

JustSomeGuy, you must be one depressed individual to be in constant mourning...

USA, fetuses are not babies.

"can you honestly look in the mirror and say that the murder of twenty school children is morally identical to twenty abortions?"

++

Morally identically, yes.

Is it emotionally identical with pain, remorse, and tears? Why don't we

1. take ABC, NBC, CBS, etc. into the Planned Parenthood abortion rooms with cameras, reporters and have them show the aborted fetuses and dismembered bodies;

2. interview family members on the loss;

3. put together video stories with sonograms, what the child could have been, and how they could have impacted society;

4. report from the front steps of the doctor's mansion and yacht to show how it was build with flesh, bone, and blood of the defenseless innocent;

5. report on how much political contributions the doctor makes to pay off the politicians;

6. report on the companies that provide medical and surgical supplies and how big their profits are from fetus terminations;

7. report on the emotional rebound and pain that some women experience after an abortion;

8. and then report on the sperm donor from the bar that he frequents where he talks about the number of women he has made out with in the past year.

Then more people would feel emotionally connected and may be willing to do something about it.

Yes I do, Mr. Moses. Why don't you? Abortion stops a child from living. Explain why you think that is OK.

Jeremy, did you see the President or Senate leaders respond with such emotion at the several hundred Mexican's Fast and Furious killed? Did you see the AG take real action? Did you see similar emotion when our diplomat and others were killed? I didn't think so. I guess that one is different too.

27 years ago my daughter was born nearly 3 months premature and weighing just 876 grams.

Today she is a healthy beautiful young lady with an MBA.

At the time of her birth, was she a fetus or a baby?

Gavin - clearly she was a premie. Your wife was in early third trimester. Your daughter lived outside the womb. I don't know anyone who supports abortion at this stage. This argument has become just like gun control. Each side is polarized and will never agree.

"can you honestly look in the mirror and say that the murder of twenty school children is morally identical to twenty abortions?" Absolutely identical!! Abortion supporters rely on the ambiguity of the English language to make their point. Those who support abortion would be far more honest if they stated the simple truth: abortion kills a human being. The law of biogenesis, "The principle stating that life arises from pre-existing life, not from nonliving material". Every human being on this earth was once a fetus, there has been no instance of any organism changing species. Accordingly, a fetus is a human being. This is not “opinion”, it is established scientific fact based on well-established scientific laws.

here are some other Obama hypocrisies - he wasn't going to be like Bush - wire tapping, drone attacks, debt ceiling, he'll reach across the isle, taxes won't go up, medical costs will go down, his office will be transparent, minorities will be better off, unemployment will be X...I'm not sure I'll have enough space to keep going.

Shame on this letter. Sorry but that's how I feel. First of all, I'm a parent, I can only speak for myself and how I personally feel, my intent is not to speak judgement on others or offend anyone but I could NEVER condone an abortion nor could my wife. I'm blessed to have my son and I couldn't imagine life without him, hopefully I'll never have to.

First I will say this, I don't think about abortion every day, so I can't say "i'm always thinking about it in the way I thought about Newtown, CT" however, in regard to how I feel about it when I do hear or think about it, my emotions are no less convicting than those felt and expressed in regards to the 20 children murdered in CT.

Abortion is not ever going to be outlawed because too many people are split on the topic. Not everyone will agree, but to me, killing is killing born or not. You can say "well technically it's not a child yet" but who is making that choice? the fetus that would be a child or the par

decided they didn't want the child. The fetus will, like it or not, develop into a child, if you don't want to get pregnant, don't have intercourse. It's pretty much that simple. To me, abortion is self and cowardly. To me, it IS the same thing as killing a child.

ToTEXASfromPA Partial Quote: 3. put together video stories with sonograms, what the child could have been, and how they could have impacted society;

End Quote:

For the intent of adding a little balance to this subject....

With claims of Millions aborted every year, have any of you wondered how many [ ten's of thousands ] of Rapist, Murderers, Child abusers, Drug pushers, Spouse abusers, Pyromaniacs, etc. did not live to commit their horrible crimes against society..???

Don't be angry that I dare speak of such things.

Just think about it....

Open your mind and Just think about it.

It could be any of our Children or Grand Children that were spared 0ne or more of the above crimes against society because of that Abortion...!

Open your mind and Just think about it.

That's all I ask.

"Look, you can oppose abortion without believing that it is equal to murder, and there's nothing wrong with that. But by making obviously exaggerated statements like this, you obscure the real issues and undermine honest dialogue." - Jeremy Moses

Hey...T-Baggers gotta talk...and, they have no time for any o' that, there real-issue & honest-dialogue stuff. Their gray-matter capacity is pretty-much spent...after spending the morning trying to decide which shoe goes on which foot...at least, the ones that wear shoes, full-time.

Maybe you could explain why it's morally-"acceptable" to FORCE a woman to carry-to-term...when you BOTH know the end-result would be a poverty-scenario???

Are ALL o' you "moralists" so sadistic, as to condemn the child AND mother into such a situation, to GUARANTEE the mother "pays" for her "improper"-behavior???

Those who use the abortion issue to challenge the issue of gun control in light of the Newtown tragedy are doing a strawman argument and they know it.

Good letter by the way.
