Again Mike you show that all the right wants to discuss is mental health. So Mike you are a liar.

Liberals have had a great amount of exposure to mental instability over the last 4 years. We've watched the majority of the right devolve into a quivering pile of psychotic energy, blubbering about birth certificates, and conspiracy theories, and comparing the democratically elected President of the US to Hitler, Stalin, and Mao. A whole cornucopia of crazy.

CMReeder-"You would be a liar. Liberals are discussing mental health.."

You would be a retard. If liberals were seriously considering the mental instability of these folks killing others they wouldn't be focused on banning certain weapons as the solution to the problem.

"I pointed out that you and your ilk ignore the mental health issue of these shootings and go after the guns of law abiding legal gun owners as the answer to the problem."

You would be a liar. Liberals are discussing mental health and violence in media and yes gun control. That is gun control not an disarming of Americans. Your side gets all belligerent and says no talk about my guns or we are leaving. It is only the mental health tha t is the problem. Obsessiveness about guns is a mental health problem.

Recently two men had the bright idea to walk around a major city with their AR-15s. They wanted to show there was nothing to be afraid of and that people would stop and ask them questions about their guns. They wound up terrifying people and the cops were called the men checked out and had carry permits. When interviewed they said they meant no harm.

So how do you tell the good guys from the bad guys. Those two men are lucky no one with a gun thought them a real threat and shot them. Of course they enetered no buildings just walked on the sidewalks which cleared up of other people.

" Nice attempt at a strawman Chris. But I suggested no such thing."

Oh, I see Mike, you want to go on the honor system then.

"Before I sell you this aresenal, I need to ask if you have any mental health issues."

"Nope."

"Need help carrying all this to your car?"

Wow, that sounds effective. Or are you and your right wing buddies just chanting "mental health" over and over again because Fox "News", and right wing hate radio told you to? You understand that the National Institute of Mental Health estimates that over 26% of Americans have one diagnosable mental disorder, and almost half of those have two or more.

It seems to me that if a person makes threats against the government that that person is not protecting us from tyranny, they ARE the tyranny.

Could you imagine how many people on the right would go berserk, and threaten to "start killing people", if a law were proposed that required you to have a sit down with a psychiatrist before purchasing a gun? And even if that law were enacted, how would that ensure that someone wouldn't have mental health issues after the fact? Should people be required to have ongoing mental health tests annually to own a gun, or should it be monthly?

"The left wants to criminalize legal gun ownership and ignore mental health issues, saying that mental health is a 'private' matter."

Wow Mike, I hadn't realized that someone had developed a mental health sensor, that could indicate the mental health of people that aren't interested in seeking mental health assistance, either because of the stigma attached to mental health issues, or because "they aren't crazy, everyone else is crazy".

The right has gone around the bend themselves on the mental health issue. Only a small fraction of people with mental health issues ever seek help for those issues.

Now, tell me or show me where the right said anything about criminalizing mental health.

These fantasies they have about needing AK47's and AR15 clones to stand up to the US govt, are just as ludicrous. Just ask David Koresh, or Osama Bin Laden how that'll work out for you. And they had FULLY automatic weapons. Besides, if you ever really needed to "stand up to the govt" are you claiming that you couldn't steal weapons from the govt? Do you actually think with all the enemies America has, that nobody in the world would be tripping over themselves to arm homegrown terrorists?

Asinine.

And that freak is no patriot. A terrorist by definition is someone that threatens to start killing people unless he gets his way. The guy should be sleeping in federal detention tonight, instead he just lost his license to carry.

"There have been quite a few people on tv threatening armed action against the government in the last couple of days."

Most bizarre thing ever. "Please let us keep our assault rifles. Why, we're just honest law abiding citizens... well, until the govt passes a law we don't agree with, then we'll magically transform into homegrown terrorists, and kill you with the very same weapons."

And make no mistake, when the start talking about these BS chain emails about Hitler and Stalin "disarming citizens", that's EXACTLY what they're saying.

" Why are guns such a target? Because they are the one tool that can be used to oppose government. Think about it."

Isn't it funny how so many of these "law abididing citizens" that insist that iniat they need military style assault weapons just to get through the day, either allude tothe fact that they are interested in starting a civil war, and murdering a bunch of innocent people, like the comment above, or they come right out and say they are going "to start killing people" if they don't get their way, like the TN terrorist that just released the YouTube video to that effect.

Memo to wingers:

It doesn't make average Joe American more likely to oppose controls on military style weapons, when you tell him you plan to "start killing people" with it.

Sorry about the Bloomberg quote folks, It turns out that the "news story" was a parody, which was printed to look real. It was not, but it was the kind of thing that Bloomberg has done over and over again, so they got me. It could happen and I stand by my statement that liberal insanity knows no bounds.

Enigma, are you sure? I always though Bloomy was a whack, but this is waaaaayyy out there. 'Course, if his goal is to fill the restaurants in the city, this would work since we wouldn't be able to chop, dice and mince ingredients to cook our own meals we would have to go out for all of our meals. I'll be he's being paid off by the restaurant lobby. Probably even gets extra lettuce in his salad, dirty bugger!

In the "where will it end" category, here is a quote from the beloved Mayor Bloomberg. “Unlike guns, knives do not have to be reloaded, which increases their lethal potential. They are easily concealable and quiet. No civilian should have access to weapons this deadly. Kitchen-knife dealers should be required to conduct background checks and report multiple sales. It is time to stand up to the kitchen-knife lobby. I call upon my fellow mayors to join me in the effort to place reasonable controls upon kitchen knives and end this madness.” In the same rant he said,"No one but a professional chef needs an 8-inch kitchen knife."

Liberal insanity knows no bounds. I wish this was a joke, but it's not.

To follow the logic of the gun grabbers here who say that we need to eliminate guns because crazy people use them to kill people, then we need to ban cars because drunk people us them to kill people. More people are killed in alcohol related accidents every year than with all kinds of firearms. Are all of you gun grabbers ready to give up your car? The constitution doesn't guarantee your right to own a car. There are lots of things that cause more deaths than guns, but only Mayor Bloomberg wants to outlaw them all. Why are guns such a target? Because they are the one tool that can be used to oppose government. Think about it.

That's where the family comes in, but, if they're still "mommy's little boy" at 24, they are afraid for their own safety. And where was the father? So much for the disintegration of the family. Guess the all providing government wasn't there to protect her from her "baby".

Are you actually claiming that people that pose a threat to others always, or even usually, make a verbal threat before they act? That's ludicrous.
