Yep...the city is completely safe..as long as you stay in your house and keep your blinds closed. C'mon now, do you take us for fools? How many shootings have there been within the last 12 months? 10? maybe even more? Safe my ass!

Gee...I thought the increase in gun-ownership was supposed to "magically" make all this go-away?????

PUBLIC SAFE! I'll believe that when the Mayor admits he uses Just For Men Hair coloring.

I wish the mayor would stop trying to convince residents that Williamsport is a safe place to live, what about the Gail Matthews unsolved homicide?

""Traditionally, these types of crimes are not random shootings. The actors are not law-abiding citizens," Campana said, before adding that may or may not be the case with this victim." Two thoughts: First, I am reminded of Mayor Wolf's comments a number of years ago that the law abiding folks had nothing to fear. Poor choice of words then and now. Second, the truth of the second statement the Mayor added, should have been enough reason not to make the first statement as quoted.

Do the math people! What happened to the number of officers employeed by the city? I am thoroughly surprised the press hasn't picked up on the disjointed numbers and asked the mayor or Foreman? From a previous front line article Spike insisted that the public does get all of the information that transpires within the walls of City Hall, I ask why is that? Public employees by law have more anonymity when discipline takes place thanks to the unions that cover them up. I ask, why only 47?

I didn't insist. I am assuming. This is usually the case in every situation, local or not. laugh - I know you think I work there but I don't. If you were posting longer, you would know this. How many are deployed and did anyone retire?

No Spike, what do people NOT KNOW and why? Deployed is obvious, who is Tim Miller replacing and who has retired? Let us not assume, you suggested people aren't given the truth, why? For security reasons or to cover ones own assets?

Laugh - I suggested this because we never get the whole story from any entity, government, business, or otherwise. How many should there be since the cuts? How many were hired? I am assuming one deployment from your comment. I don't know who retired if anyone. That's why I'm asking you. How many should there be now and how many are unaccounted for?

Capt. Mike Orwig was deployed overseas for a year recently. I believe he is who Officer Miller is replacing. I also believe another officer is also deployed right now but I can't recall his name.

I feel there is a thin blue line between one who insinuates they 'know someone' or do they actually only 'know of them'? Spike, you did claim to KNOW them both on a prior message board to the tune of almost violating hippa laws. Who cares Jeff, Spike does. The old 2x4 note pads still work, only you have to watch out who is reading them.

( Mayor, Your Little Speech Of The Latest Shooting Tragedy Was Not Reassurance That This City Is Safe. Complete Bull. There Have Been So Very Many Unsolved Murders Since The 80s, 90s, 2000 Etc... That I Can Remember. What About The Gang Members That Shot Innocent People And Murdered One Eight Years Ago ? Were These Individuals Ever Caught? Was Their Loved Ones And The Residents Of Williamsport Ever Been Informed ? There Are Young People Under The Age Of 25 That Carry Guns In Our City. No One Is SAFE! This Word NO! Longer Exists. How Many More Murders Must The Residents Of This Once Beloved City Endure ? One Nightmare After Another! So Very Sad.

Luey, please, you don't have to work at City Hall to hear things. Any of us who work anywhere within the system hear all the dirt. I believe I said my family knows Foresman. I did not say we were buddies or even close friends. I said he seemed like a nice guy. I was being facetious with a reference to Aspergers, I hope no one really has this. I am well familiar with Hippa, however, I certainly never saw Laugh's med records. Might be interesting for someone to subpoena though.
