Same post, fewer typos. A few more questions. First, how has the fact that some of our populace is armed, secured the nation from domestic and foreign threats?

Second, the author mentioned 1500 years when describing the value of Si vis pacem, para bellum? Was there a time it wasn't a good policy to follow?
