Second, the author mentioned 1500 years when describing the value of Si vis pacem, para bellum? Was there a time it wasn't a good policy to follow?

Firearms of a certain size, caliber, capability or decibel level are restricted under the National Firearms Act and have been since 1934." I wonder how much consensus there is among those who support this letter regarding the above quote?
