I agree with the letter. I have the same hopes, however I just don't think it will happen. The government here is lining their pockets with Gas Line $. I don't see them 'upgrading' from that.
I'm for "right to work". What do these laws have to do with gov workers? They are already right to work. Like industry some government workers work for but heads. My choice was to join the union to protect myself from these.
The latest round of union busting laws called 'right to work", are complete BS. You already have a right to work anywhere that will hire you. If you don't want to work in a union shop, then DON'T APPLY TO ONE. If there is a vote in your workplace on union representation, and you don't want it, VOTE AGAINST IT.
All these new laws do is allow right wing employees to reap the benefits (increased pay and benefits) of working in a union shop, without the downside of actually having to pay for the service you receive.
Conservatives are ALWAYS looking for new angles to skate on paying for services they receive. It's shameful how they spend so much time and energy trying to dodge any PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY.
I actually have to rephrase my initial statement. I don't agree with the apparent idea of outlawing Unions..I could care less about that..however..
Right to Work addresses something completely different. It addresses this b.s. Occupational Tax we have to pay to actually be allowed to work. Some states have already started doing away with the tax, becoming known as Right to Work States. PA needs to be next. We shouldn't have to pay for the right to pay taxes.
Lazy the Liar "All these new laws do is allow right wing employees to reap the benefits (increased pay and benefits) of working in a union shop,"
All unions do is protect lazy incompetent workers that contribute little to the company from being fired. Competent ambitious workers are rarely protected by unions, they're only there to provide dues to the thugs that run the union.

Sorry but that isn't accurate. For more on "right to work laws" check out the wikipedia article on them.
