"I believe Chuck and Chris think they’re being clever or winning the gotcha game with their silly posts, but I’ll wager most of us don’t see them that way."
I know of at least one local woman who would still be alive if she had been carrying a handgun in her purse instead of the can of mace that just served to irritate her attacker. She was able to get into her purse and deploy the mace in the prescribed manner but it was not effective. If it had been carrying a Smith & Wesson Lady .38, instead of a can of mace, she undoubtedly would still be alive.
I read on line today at another site that a 35 year old Philadelphia pediatrician was found dead, bound and burned in her basement today. Seems the city of brotherly love ain't all that loving afterall! She had a pitbull lab mix dog in the house when she was found by her dog walker. She might be alive tonight if she had had a firearm at her residence!
CHayes-" YOU used that to show that a household with a gun was unsafe."
I did nothing of the kind. I just posted a story about a father brutally murdering a mother, then killing himself at a daughters sweet sixteen party.

You're not doing very well in the credibility department today. When you can't keep up with your own lies it's time to admit you have a problem.
CHayes Jan-22-13 3:56 PM*****"You mean to tell me you never heard of a straw purchase? Do you think its really that tough to establish residency in a state only 45 minutes away via a mail drop, then get a driver's liscence in that state? Give me a break.
First of all, an individual needs to have a permanent residence within a state to be able to purchase firearms. A license with a PO will simply not comply.
Secondly, while attending college I worked at a firearms retailer, purchasing and selling firearms. We had a strict no sale policy to individuals who lived in CA and IL. The reasoning was because of the strict guidelines they had for firearms purchases.
" Chris, I just checked to make sure and just as I thought, Both Indiana and Wisconsin DO NOT ALLOW non residents to purchase handguns. Wisconsin even has a 48 hour waiting period.
According to the Chicago Police Department Murder Analysis, in 98% of these murders, a handgun was the weapon used.
So how does your argument hold water again?"

CHayes-"I'm not really sure why you would complain about homicides being used in the study. First, I thought it was your view that homes with guns in them were impervious to their residents being murdered, or at the very least more impervious. Were that true, that would skew the numbers toward the houses without guns."
The problem is that they surveyed ONLY homes that had murders committed in them.
And you are trying to tell me, based on that study, that my home, where no murders have been committed, is 300% less safe than a home with no guns.
The study group doesn't include houses with guns where no murder was committed, so you, or they, can't make it fit your conclusion.

Why don't you try responding to the person whom you are quoting? That would be max4ever if you can't figure it out on your own.
CHayes-"Where did he bring the gun from Mike? From his house, or someone else's house? Did he stop somewhere and steal it on the way? Did he buy it from a black market, illegal gun dealer? Fill us in Mike."
YOU used that to show that a household with a gun was unsafe. The problem was that it wasn't HIS house. He brought it to the home where he committed the murder. It wasn't there to begin with. You can't even follow your own stupid argument.
Mr. Reeder, I own 1 gun now because of our home invasion and I pray that I will never have to use it, but I would use it to keep myself and my family alive.

"You have a better chance of being murdered in a city with a democrat mayor than you do if you live in a house that contains a firearm."
You have statistics to back that up Fifi. Or are you doing libertarian magical thinking.

Never said 'gun nut', so how many guns do you need in your home to protect yourself from an intruder?

I'll take CHayes's confusion as a compliment, Mike. Hopefully it is because we think so much alike AND rattle his chains!
