Ban is a mistake

January 24, 2013

Just received a reply from Sen. Robert Casey. I asked what his opinion is about the so-called assault weapons ban. He informed me in a canned letter he will be supporting the ba....

Oh, Hell, yeah! Forty-five years ago...little yellow-skinned, slant-eyed people wearing black pajamas and pointed straw hats trying to waste me. AK-47'S or M-16'S? Same-same beaucoup dinky dau.

Well Jim, large donut eating, round eyed Cops might be looking for you in the future if you own an assault weapon. Its kinda strange that the president took note that over 900 people had died by gunfire since the Connecticut school incident, with very few being killed by assault rifles, but he only mentions assault rifles needing to be banned. Makes me think he has future plans for future bans.

...And, should probably take-up fishing...instead...unless, of course, a tuna-boat becomes Priority 1.

Ah, yes...and, ever since those Vietnamese gun-boats flooded the West Coast, we've had quite the over-population of them, in the hills o' PA.

Richardson..I've only resented a couple statements in the past couple of days and yours, unfortunately is one of them.

I'm a democrat too and while I've shared my views on why I don't necessarily have a problem with the ban, I've also expressed my views as to why I completely understand and do not disagree necessarily with those who do. My political affiliation has nothing to do with my morals and beliefs. I do not base my every thought on a political party..frankly I think 97% of politicians are idiots who want to make more money for themselves.

As far as Hayes is concerned...he might be registered Democrat but he's affiliated Oblivious.

Hey, Jerry, isn't it the Left wing who is flipping out in abject panic that someone might shoot them, and hence their hysterical politicization of the Newtown shooting?

Since so called assault weapons are used in less than three percent of gun crimes, isn't their call for a ban on these weapons a shrill, illogical call to further restrict law-abiding citizens' rights?

Maybe you're not smart enough to understand rhetorical fallacies like the "projection" you employ, but that doesn't mean I can't point it out.

Ritty, both sides are using the school shooting for their agenda. Don't think for one second the NRA isn't doing just that. Time to move on, something will happen. I am really surprised no one is talking about the school shooting in Texas. Where two people were having an argument and just started shooting each other and some of the people around them. Strange as it is, Texas wants more guns in public places. More guns only create more problems.

the so called assault weapons aren't just AK's or AR's. To hype the case that is one message out there. And having the right to own a gun, doesn't mean its just for hunting. One might collect them, target shoot, skeet shoot, hunt to just want one for protection. If the ban is to prevent some of the shootings, why not look at the root cause of what happened recently? Where is the same urgency to address mental illness or video games? There is none as it more about an opportunity to push anothers agenda and to sieze the moment given the raw emotion. Such dishonesty.

So let me get this straight, you would have no problem with the government taking my gaming consol so I can't play resident evil? Where are my rights? The problem is too many guns.

Yes! How monstrous of us liberals to think that it's "best" that innocent people not be massacred by lunatics with high capacity, rapid fire weapons in public places.

Yes, collect them. Didn't the Newtown psycho's mother just collect them?

And if you can't protect yourself with a 5 shot, pump action, 12 gauge shot gun, AND a 10 shot pistol, then you probably are running a meth lab, or somehow involved in the drug trade, and are afraid either the competition, or the authorities are gonna come calling.

"Hey, Jerry, isn't it the Left wing who is flipping out in abject panic that someone might shoot them"

Not at all, and this is very telling of how right wing minds work, vs. left wing minds.

The right are terrified someone is going to try and kill them personally, the left are scared that someone is going to shoot someone else. Subtle but telling difference. Think about that for a minute.

In Texas a student with a conceal permit fired his gun while in an altercation with another person.

Tx is proposing to allow atudents with conceal permits to carry guns on campus. Just pour that gasoline!
