Good for them! With this being a technology world, it's great that school districts are working toward making technology a learning tool not just an 'entertainment device'. Using things such as Ipads to the advantage of schools is a great idea. I fully support it!

I would support this idea if they were responsible about the spending. If it is going to cost $180,000/year for a non needed item, they should cut $180,000 from somewhere else in the budget to make up for it.

fromtheport, I do agree with you on that statement about adjusting the spending accordingly.

I wouldn't call it an 'unneeded item' but I understand why said that and me disagreeing doesn't make your point and opinion invalid by any means.

I think it could 'improve the interest' for students in classrooms.. In a way it's sorta sad that you have to use tools such as Ipads to do such a thing but like I said, we live in a technoolgy-based world now. I also think it shouldn't be that hard to take 180k from one thing and apply it to this, I'm sure there is PLENTY of needless spending occuring.

This must be a joke. First of all my home has every generation of Ipads and I know all too well what to expect,...Which generation of Ipad are they considering?? Who will be doing all the technical support for the devises because it will be required on a regular basis?? These devises are not that robust, what happens when a student accidentally spills a drink or drops one and destroys it??

What next, cell phones for all students??? Thats right Obama is seeing to that.

I live in Montgomery and from what I've heard from parents, the Ipads are a good thing. The kids seem to be more interested in doing thier school work, there are no excuses for not having thier homework and from what I've heard they can access books, study materials with them. I also heard they can't use them for social media purposes/ non school activities etc. I remember when we weren't allowed to have a calculator at school,LOL.
