Economic forces make fire alliances a must

If I'm reading and understanding it correctly this article correctly I agree completely. I understand it to be basically saying, all the fire depts in the area should 'join forces/unite' and help each other fight fires.

I can see the benefit of this in two ways. 1) in the long run it may actually save money. 2) We can sleep at night knowing that someone is watching out for us.
