Unfair

January 26, 2013

I know the subject of Megan’s Law isn’t the best topic. There some thing really needs to be addressed. How is it that a TV star can have so much control over the federal government....

Well Mel, would you agree to spending five minutes alone in a small room with the fully capable father of your victim and a two foot section of a logging chain in exchange for getting your picture off of the list?

Actually Jeff, remember the old saying "under the jailhouse?" IMO thats where the sexual perverts belong, never to see the light of day again. ESPECIALLY the ones that abused children.

How sad that these deviant's lives are ruined. What about the kids they abused? You think thier lives aren't affected? No mercy for people (I use the term loosely)who commit these kinds of crimes.

Be glad all you have to comply with is Megan's Law. If I had my way, you would all be sent above the Arctic Circle, to dig coal by hand for heat and exist on MRE's dropped in periodically when the weather permitted.

Mr. McHenry,

Society has proven over and over in court case after court case that they despise the individual that takes advantage of the innocent, sweet, under-aged minor. They throw the book at him and want to punish him for his entire life.

The inconsistency is that some of the same people want to promote sexual lifestyles in teenagers and encourage exploring at a young age; they want the government to provide ******s, birth control and abortions. One day both teenagers are minor and it is okay for them to explore; the next day, one turns 18 and it now becomes abuse or rape.

Another inconsistency is that some of the same people push for homosexual Boy Scout leaders out of a fairness doctrine that has gone off course.

Another inconsistency is that the same people push for wide spread access to p ornagraphic materials

Can the child abuser/rapist be rehabilitated and no longer be a threat to society? I would hope so but I don't think society is ready to forgive.

"How is it that a TV star can have so much control over the federal government."

+++

Speaking of said TV star and having watched his show on occasion, to see the way he subtly makes comments to certain women in s exual connotation is demeaning. Part of it may be his own ego and narcissism but in some cases, it is almost like he is "hitting" on them. Has he gone over the line; has he violated the fidelity of his marriage with these words? I can not read the mind nor do I want to.

Whether adultery, child abuse/rape, homo se xuality, viewing po rnography, making suggestive comments to the opposite gender outside of marriage, etc, etc, these are all sins against God and ourselves. We all need restoration.

Now that I have thrown a lot of red meat into the water, open the gates so the sharks can come in.

Is it John Walsh? If so, I think he and his wife divorced, no that it excuses bad behavior if he is making suggestive comments on the show.

TV Star.......I was assuming Bill O'Reilly since he used his show to promote Megan's law a couple of years ago. Maybe there are others that I do not know about.

You might be right Texas, I just always connected Megans Law to John Walsh because of his son, but I could be wrong.

I'm wiling to give any person a second chance, or sometimes a third, because I'm certainly no choir boy, except when it comes to children. Then there's no excuse. None. Zero. I believe it's a small price to ask a child molester to place his name in a local data base. He or she should have considered the consequences that comes with taking away a child's innocence.

Fair points. Dealing drugs however does not DIRECTLY mentally damage every person buying. Also, legal or not, someone dealing is not forcing product on anyone. Victims of sexual abuse however are not demanding to be molested.

Parts of Megan's law should be revisited. I would prefer the 19 year old who is with a sixteen year old not be labeled as a sex offender. Some parents know of these relationships. Parental consent is not a defense. In all other instances this law is necessary.
