The Dr didn't say this country; he just said national unity. Good example is that he supported getting rid of the mean dictator Mubarak in Egypt and replaced it with a democratic process (copied GWB-blame it on him).
Doesn't a democratic process provide the opportunity for most to participate in the process and be unified?
Go Muslim Brotherhood; push that Sharia Law down everyone's throat. Kill off and suppress the opposition. Promote that national unity.
" Dr. Vosk, give me one example where this president even remotely tried to unify this country"
You mean like he came within one person of appointing more members of the opposition party than any President since Lincoln? And only because Republican Judd Gregg turned down a job offer.
Are were you thinking more of how he appointed his bitter primary rival to be Secretary of State?
"I think the Sun-Gazette deserves to be commended for its front page today.
You did not support Mr. Obama for re-election, but now that he is sworn in as president you decided to emphasize the idea of national unity. If only more of our elected officials had the same spirit!" - Arno Vosk M.D.

Never underestimate the ability o' those (who have a long track-record of losing), of jumping-on...and, attempting to hijack...a winning "bandwagon".
That has to be one of the single stupidest remarks I've EVER seen posted here. Appointing a cabinet level Secretary, particularly Secretary of State doesn't fall under the category of local DC politics. If you don't care about what goes on in DC, why do you comment here?
Were you expecting the President to swing by your house and pleasure you manually?
I guess.you can't answer what kind of thing, not in Washington, you'd like the President to do to make you happy. Not sure if your aware of this, but the President is the head of our federal govt, and as that's located in DC, that's kind if his headquarters too.
Let's see- the rich aren't paying their fair share, the Right is the party of no, the Right wants dirty water and air, they will kick your seniors out of nursing homes, Romney will take away your food stamps, ect., ect.
Mr. Zook, those are some excellent examples of the attempts by the Annointed One to unify the country! Of course, the power of the federal government is far more all-encompassing than most of the Founders ever intended.
The problem with this unity discussion, IN MY OPINION(I think it's important to stress), is, how can a President 'unify' the country when the citizens can't even unify on most issues. Though in all fairness Congress and the Presidential Candidate have a lot to do with this. It's hard for a country to unify when our government can't even do it. There are some topics that we will just never see eye to eye on. There are others where there is a clear middle ground but government is unwilling to accept it.

Seems when liberals are in the White House the pleasure is administrated orally.
