Global warming and power

January 29, 2013

The issue isn't whether or not there has been a warming trend over the past few years. The issue is whether or not Man's activities are a significant factor in this....

"The issue is whether or not Man's activities are a significant factor in this. Politicians who have an agenda to impose yet another tax (carbon tax) are operating under the assumption that the warming is caused by Man's activities, and the "science" that backs their assertion is far from rigorous." - Romuald Andraka

Well...that's not true...at all.

Such smart words coming from our left wing scientists. They just came out with a study yesterday stating that the climate is really not warming at such a fast rate as we fear. All a man-made created crisis as another way to tax. Democrats just can't keep their hands out of everyone's pockets. Get over it, the climate has been changing since the earth began. It is adaptable and able to tolerate what mankind gives it.

Not enough people recycle, not enough people are conservative(non-politically speaking) about using resources, not enough people are able to or do properly maintain vehicles so that they're not a complete strain on the air. There are numerous reasons that you could suggest man is at fault and I agree that we don't do enough to 'do our part'.

As far as Shaman goes..I'm so tired of seeing him 'reference documents' ESPECIALLY when it is Youtube. Seriously? You remind me of the State Farm Commerical..you know..where "you can't post anything on the internet that isn't true...where'd you hear that? The internet." "...He's a french Model...I met him on the internet....Bonjour"

Yeah..I paraphrased the commercial and Shaman..you play the part of the blonde for sure.

Darlin, that sounds like you're very hopeful that what you're saying has an ounce of truth to it.

Let me ask you something and keep in mind I'm not a scientist so anything I say on this topic is pure speculation and opinion. It's been stated that they've found dead suns/planets in Space.. My thought is, first of all, "how did they get this way"? The answer, for me, would be that the sun burnt out, everything on the planet died, etc. etc.

I have no way of knowing whether that has any truth to it, it's just a non-scientific theory. My point? You say that the earth and climate is ever changing and can handle what we 'give it'. How sure are you that this statement is factual?

Rick said "The CEO of Exxon says it is so. Look real or not, we should do all we can do to save our planet."

Dig a little deeper into what the political left of the world wants to do to stave off "climate change" and look for just how insignificant the predicted effect of their plans will be on the climate. Then compare that to how much it will cost. You will probably ask yourself if it's worth it.

Also look back on predictions these "scientists" made in the past and see how inaccurate they were. Why should we believe them this time? They have never been right before.

Hickok said "You say that the earth and climate is ever changing and can handle what we 'give it'. How sure are you that this statement is factual?"

Because we can study climates from times past with any number of scientific methods. That the climate has warmed and cooled since the beginning of time with no input from man is the only part of this topic that everybody agrees on.

Left wing scientists?

Right wing scientists are what? Creationists.

And again it comes down to the aspect of money not conservation.

See it warmed in the past as well as cooled. Of course no one considers why it did so or how it happened. All they care about is it happen before, no problem.

Rick424,"Look real or not, we should do all we can do to save our planet."

By planet, do you mean the big hunk of rock that moves around the sun? If so, I do not think it is in any danger. If you mean the life that is on that big hunk of rock, you are using the wrong word, and more people stand to die from efforts to save it than from any warming, imagined or real. The evidence is not there. It makes no sense to abandon our way of life based on a theory with very little evidence to back it up. If real evidence was available, people like Al Gore wouldn't have to make it up.

Chuck,"See it warmed in the past as well as cooled. Of course no one considers why it did so or how it happened. All they care about is it happen before, no problem."

The point is that the dinosaurs were not burning 'fossil fuels'. The changes in climate are caused by natural occurrences. Many real scientists study these causes, so it is not fair to say nobody cares. Lazy scientists who just want government grants will say whatever keeps that money rolling in and right now that's man-made global warming. They say what they get paid to say and some people believe it. Forty years ago they were paid to say that burning fossil fuels is causing a new ice age, because at the time it was cooling. Whatever undesirable thing happens, it's caused by evil oil.

There are scientists who take money from fossil fuel industries to say that man is not at fault nor the burning of fossil fuels.

The dinosaurs did not burn fossil fuels so you can't blame fossil fuels. Nice logic there enigma.

We had glaciers parked on top of Lycoming County less than 20,000 years ago.

What caused them to melt and disappear? Man-made global warming?

One of these days, Al Gore will put out a cartoon book with a couple of pages showing there were forest fires with CO2 emissions that caused it.

Does anyone still pray to God for weather changes and sustenance in this day and time?
