The future is upon us. In 5-10 years, there will be no mail. It'll all be electronic. You know those futuristic movies like 6th Day, Judge Dredd, Back to the Future etc..yeah okay maybe that's an exaggeration but my point is communication will become electronic.

Mail mail become electronic wwhickok but it is awful difficult to send a package over the internet. Yes there are other options from private companies but they are usually more expensive and will go up even more in price if the post office were to go away.

"Prefunding is not a requirement for other governmental agencies." If this prefunding is unique to the USPS, I wonder what other reasons, besides fiscal solvency, are behind this requirement. I just wonder if it is more a poison pill to force a particular event, rather than planning for future retirees.

"The U.S. Postal Service projects annual savings of $3,457,973 from the move, minus $160,680 in one-time moving costs."That's just great USPS now my 46cent letter will take 10 days or more to go from one point in the city to another point in the city. Now snailmail is explained even better.Stop the bleeding USPS,file for bankruptcy now and get it over with.

How many "new"? Most likely twice as many if they don't transfer the "old" expensive ones.
