My formula

January 31, 2013

Obama gave 23 executive orders concerning gun control. I have the following formula for Obama and Howard Ebner: On behalf of NRA and my fellow gun owners, K.M.A. X 23. Virgil D....

Ritty that one person did not just kill one son but 19 other sons and daughters along with 6 educators with families. But we see where your loyalties lie with the 99.99% of gun owners.

Glad to see you are still so civil with others.

Mr Zook you should look in the mirror and you give a feeble excuse for your bad behavior.

Ritty: " life isn't fair"

Ritty: " One person killed your son, not the other 99.99+% who own a scary looking gun."

To your mind Ritty, are lessons like "life isn't fair" always for the other guy?

When it comes to these executive orders, I don't really see what everyone is b***hing about. It addresses some of the biggest problem areas, mental health, reporting of mentally ill, and gun lock & gun safe standards.

I really think people are just in here complaining for the sake of complaining.

Too many guns, that is the problem. Really heartless there Ritty but I have come to expect that from the pro gun crowd. They are just like republicans, all they care about is themselves. Oh wait, most of the people against gun control are Republicans. Sorry but this country has a serious problem with guns and people just can't see it. Hope you have a nice day.

With all due respect to Mr. Wheeler, life isn't fair and freedom isn't free. One person killed your son, not the other 99.99+% who own a scary looking gun. We are charged by our founders with keeping all our rights, not sacrificing one for another.

?"Thomas Jefferson described our inalienable rights as life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I do no think the order of those important words was haphazard and casual. The liberty of any person to own a military assault weapon and high-capacity magazine and to keep them in their home is second to the right of my son to his life."

--Dave Wheeler, whose son Benjamin died at Sandy Hook Elementary school.

Okay, normally I don't do this but I just couldn't resist after this declaration. Can you tell me which noun that the adjective "cogent" modifies or relates to? :-)

English was usually one of my poorest classes and I usually make a ton of errors. Notice how I mixed a past and present tense in the same sentence. My teachers didn't like it but I thought it was novel.

OMG!!!! Someone once told me that liberals have no sense of humor and I didn't believe it. I'm starting to. Let me explain. I was saying that I don't use the name enigma, which I was joking is my real name, but that the Sun Gazette does not believe so I had to use a pen name (my real name) to get published. You may not think that's funny, but you should at least recognize that it was a joke.

Yes I have, but I don't use the name Enigma on them, I use a pen name. The SG refused to believe that this is my real name. BTW, you also won't find any gramatical errors in my letters. Unlike these comments I take a lot of time to make sure they are correct, coherent and cogent. It would be a waste of effort and an insult to the readers otherwise. Thanks for asking.

Reeder-My problem is not that Obama is or isn't evil, my problem is his policies are not in line with the spirit of the U.S. Constitution. It's the same with all politicians. When they get into office it's go with the established way of doing things or become invisible. Take your opinions for example. Bring up anything that the right would agree with and the name calling starts.... look in the mirror bro'.........

Considering there are some many right wingers, that call the democratically elected President of the US "a tyrant", and considering how many of the same group say they may need to have military style weapons to "overthrow a tyrant", one would think it would be common sense to stay away from cryptic messages in public statements, if that's the crowd you run with.

Chuck,"Way too much info about yourself there enigma."

I wasn't talking about myself Chuck, I don't drink and I don't yell at Piers Morgan on the TV (I do sometimes cheer for his guests though). I have observed that the kind of people who use the language in this letter do have a tendency to drink and have self-control issues.

Mr. Zook you on the other have no problem saying President Obama is evil or liberals or democrats or those who favor gun controls. The NRA is not going to qualify for sainthood.

I'm not a member of the NRA, but I don't have a problem with the reasoning behind people being so, completely understand your points John. I also don't think the NRA is evil, frankly I don't follow the NRA closely enough to form a concrete 'good or evil' opinion of them.

All this talk from Libs about the "evil" NRA. Yet I have yet to see ANYONE state exactly why the NRA is evil. And, by saying the NRA is evil, are all the members evil or are they duped? I'm a member because I feel they are the last bastion for protection of my 2nd amendment rights. Who will stand up for my rights under this current admin? With the results of the last election, I guess I'm not alone.

Well, first I would say, I agree with you to an extent enigma, but as I mentioned before, the new executive orders, DO address the real issues. Unless I overlooked something I didn't see any additional bans included.

Sincere question to you Enigma, have YOU written any LTE's with substance? (I don't even know if you've written LTE's period)

I agree Reeder, while not limiting the word criminal to these categories, I was really referring to known drug dealers, cartels, gangs, etc that commit violent crimes, but your point is correct.

wwhickok,"I don't think we need to attack legal gun owners that are not mentally ill. I DO think we need to target criminals."

AMEN! The problem with this statement is that it is far too logical to ever catch on in Washington....or maybe the problem isn't with the statement, but with Washington.
