Truth: the NRA's anger and one sided 'facts' turn off those in the middle. They really have nothing to gain and and a lot to lose.

? What is KMA X23? It doesn't even Google.

I guess you can tell I don't belong to the NRA.

Gavin56,

I assume that it means kiss my shorts????????? Or go bark up a different tree???? Or why do you want to take away constitutional rights that help guarantee our freedoms??? Why don't you look towards the mental health of many of the perpetrators of the crimes????? Or why don't you advocate a better family unit and upbringing of the individuals to deal with the perpetrators???? Or why don't to fight offense with a strong defense????

KMA = kiss my a**, x23? I'm assuming refers to the 23 executive orders.

I do agree that the NRA's arguements and facts are one sided. I'm not saying they're necessarily wrong, but the NRA has one stance and supports nothing that even remotely opposes that stance.

This is information according to NYMag dot com

"Contrary to what you may have heard today — from Bloomberg News, Huffington Post, Salon, and a million other places — President Obama did not sign 23 executive orders at his gun-control event this afternoon. What he did was initiate 23 "executive actions."

Here's my question. Did anyone READ the executive orders? Most of the orders involve improving reporting of the mentally ill, improving the standards for gun locks and safes, improving background checks, strengthening reporting of stolen guns and prosecution of gun crimes, and creating an emergency plan for response to schools, churches, etc

What's there to disagree with? It is actually ADDRESSING the real issues. It's not creating more bans.

Yeah, clearly Otto.

I'd love to hear the reasoning behind the disagrees I received. It's starting to seem like certain commentors are simply advocating the right to carry around their 'manhood' and ignore the real issues all together rather than supporting a set of executive orders that do just that. The executive orders can be found all over. Forbes dot com has them posted, yahoo news has them posted. I'm sure you can find them on the white house dot org website in fact. Before casting judgement, perhaps you all should actually read them.

Interesting comment Bryan48, I think you are correct. Just watching Wayne LaPierre and all his arrogance seems to be the case. Reminds me of Tony Hayward during the BP oil spill.

The same BP that is about to lose in a major way.

Arrogance is a great word to describe both individuals.

I agree with EVERY word you said on this thread. Fantastic posts. But with all the violent rhetoric I've heard over the last weeks, I have to wonder if "KMA" doesn't stand for "Kill Muslim Americans".

Only you or the Sham could come up with a dim witted statement like that Hazy, and just when I thought I detected a hint of sanity from you.

The NRA has every right to espouse its position, and as Mr LaPierre has said, isn't it time we start enforcing the 9000 or so Federal gun laws already on the books? All the gun haters want are more feel good laws that will limit an honest man from getting a gun, but do nothing to prevent a criminal from getting one.

Did you not know Mr. Hickok you are overly emotional you are not rationally thinking about this, just like everyone else who finds nothing wrong with gun controls.

KMA is the Internet version of Kiss My Assets! In reference to the NRA it would be Kill Murder Assassin.

Reeder, not sure if you were being sarcastic or not, if you're not, I don't think that I was being emotional, but I do agree with the NRA on the standpoint that there should be more of an emphasis on enforcing the laws already in place rather than creating more. Like I said, I think the NRA is too 'stubborn'(for the lack of a better phrase in mind) to support anything that opposes their ideas BUT you can say that about any politician, any company, etc, etc, it's just the nature of an "opinion". They strongly stand behind what they believe. I'm not going to sit here and tell you I completely agree with the NRA but I also won't tell you I completely agree with the government. I do support the new 23 Executive Orders because what they actually address, i think is positive. But I don't think we need additional bans, I don't think we need to attack legal gun owners that are not mentally ill. I DO think we need to target criminals.

Looks like we've got bigger mental health issues than we thought.

I was being sarcastic Mr. Hickok because anytime someone disagrees with NRA they are not rational but emotional even though those from the NRA are very emotional.
