Maybe if we started taxing se xual inter course, the frequency of unwanted babies would decrease. I am sure the technology exists to implant some type of electronic chip in the body to record the event and then transmit the results back to a central location and an automatic debit of the bank account could occur. The politicians would love the new revenue source to spend and perpetuate their stay in office.

I hear the coffee pot finishing; I better go get a cup of coffee to wake up.

"Why is it the government's business to provide funds for abortion and birth control?"

The govt provides ZERO funding for abortion. As to why should the govt provide birth control, I'd have to say that 9 out of 10 doctors now say that sex can lead to pregnancy, and if someone can't afford birth control, they CERTAINLY can't afford to raise a child. Also, it's worth noting that on any given day, birth control prevents more abortions than the entire American anti-choice movement has in it's existence.

I've been away for a couple of weeks with work, fun and taxes (my favorite pastime--NOT!) and I can see that not much has changed.

Dottie, as much as you dislike it, abortion is available in the US. Planned Parenthood states that the monies from the govt (us taxpayers) is not use to fund abortion, but is used to provide other services. Unless you can prove that your tax dollars go to provide abortion services you should stop trying to incite the masses. Whining to a two bit parakeet cage rag isn't helping your cause.

It's quite possible that (same) government is getting extremely tired o' hearing "conservatives" constantly whining about all the people on Welfare.

Sham, It's called irony, with a little sarcasm thrown in. Lighten up a little and you'll see the humor in it. We get it, you like abortion, probably wish you could have been aborted, but don't let that cloud your vision so much that you miss some really funny stuff.

Dorothy, While I can understand your perplection over your complaint re the Abortion problem. You are beating a dead horse here. Are YOU ready to care for that unwanted, or crack heads baby? I bet not! Besides there plenty of other medical reasons for women to have to have an abortion. I've taken care of some of those babies that Doctors have had parents throw into institutions, believe me it is no picnic. So, get off of your highhorse and quit dragging this subject up already!

John "Shambaby" Hilfirty,

You took my paragraph out of context; you left off the coffee and waking up part. <(*_*)>

Gerty, you bring up a great point. To be honest, I really don't care about some dirtbags kid. I don't want to pay to fund the support of some drug baby. Let em be aborted. Callous? Maybe. More likely favoring a better use of limited resources. Because that is what we have, limited resources and so how do we best utilize them? Certainly not by bringing more human debris into the equation. Cut the losses and move on. If we use our resources to take care of these kids and neglect those who will actually be productive I don't believe god or anyone else will look askance at it.

Why is it the anti abortion people think that if they overturn Roe v Wade that abortions will cease? Why is it they think that abortions became available only after Roe v Wade?
