Children today seem to be more vicious then when I went to school.

Children commit suicide because they have no way to feel good about themselves.

The Bullies do it because they need to hurt someone to make themselves feel happier or more popular.

When people witness Bullying they need to come forward and make it stop.

Yes, there was bullying. But we didn't hear about kids taking their life over it. That's the part that baffles me.

@mikekerstetter, there was bullying then. When I went to school, there were "slam books" and other ways to bully, and the mean girl crowd never goes away, they just change tactics. Back then it was whispering and making comments before the teacher came in the room, or rude comments in the hallway or locker room. Now these poor kids have to contend with texting, the internet, and all sorts of new ways to feel humiliated.

Unless swift and decisive action will be taken, sometimes reporting it makes it worse. When I was in school, no one would believe that the clique of daughters of businessmen, doctors, and other fine upstanding people could be so mean.

That's TRUE, but...like the 2012 Election highlighted...their "numbers" are dwindling. Old White men (who benefited, MOST, from bullying/intimidation) are no-longer calling all-the-"shots".

In the '50s, bullying was pretty-much accepted...like child/spousal-abuse. After all...in a John Wayne kind o' World...who wanted to be called a "sissy" (or, a "constantly-complaining" wife, for that matter)?

The "problems" (i.e. exposure of such issues) began, in the early-'60s, when Civil Rights legislation was passed...and, EVERYONE (even WOMEN!) came to the realization that NOTHING was "eternal"/permanent, anymore (despite what the Patriarchy insisted)!!!
