The Bible says that it is better for those who never heard the Word than for those who heard and rejected it. There is no sin where there is no law. If you've heard and rejected, you're under the law because you know better.

Tex. Good posts. I keep trying, praying that God will soften the hearts of the non believers. It's especially disheartening when believers don't believe the Bible.

Many people have no desire to spend eternity in your theme park, surrounded by hypocrites. Count me among them. When I die, I just want to stay dead. I never asked for your god to place me on earth. You Bible Thumpers fail to see the lack of logic in your myths. As well as the absence of any evidence that your god exists, or that any god exists.

Francine, to answer your question, the short responses can be found in Romans 1:19-20 "They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God."

If you read starting at verse 18 through the end of Chapter 1, you can see how some have progressively moved farther from God.

Conversely, God does want all to be saved........ "The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent." 2 Peter 3:9

"This is not a new teaching, but the consistent teaching from the start of the church."

God has progressively revealed himself and his salvation plan through time. However, salvation has always been through faith, since even before the church and before Israel.

Abraham believed in God and it was declared as righteousness. (Romans 4:3, Galatians 3:6, and James 2:23)

A good read to show this concept is Hebrews Chapter 11, where it describes the patriarchs and their belief in God. Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Rahab, and many others believed in God. All these people existed before Jesus Christ (God) came to the earth in the form of flesh as a baby.

Francine, the Bible says what it says. Jesus says it quite a few times, that through Him is the only way.

Francine, that passage does not say you have to cast out demons and prophecy to get to heaven. In fact, it says just the opposite. It's a parable of what some people will say at the gates of heaven, that they did those things in Jesus' name. And Jesus tells them that their works will not get them to heaven, because he didn't know them... they didn't have a personal relationship with Jesus. It's the one thing that is essential to going to heaven, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
