That was an excellent letter Mr. Wilk! I wouldn't change a word.

Based on past letters and comments this town has no room for any new potentially positive attractions/activities. If it weren't for ticket giveaways the cutters would generally have a sparce crowd on most nights.
Besides maybe the city should stick to what its known for and good at-- with gang violence and welfaring what more could this city want?

If the city had a proper indoor arena, a hockey team could be successful here. I believe the fan support would be good, especially in the winter when there is less to do.

But the city DIDN'T have an indoor arena. I kind of wish people would stop talking about it because it cannot be debated as even a 'decent' idea.

"Who should city residents be more disgusted with, our mayor who foolishly pursued this hockey boondoggle, despite warnings from sources raising serious questions about such an enterprise's viability, or our City Council who sat idly by while red flags were waved in their faces repeatedly and choose instead to simply rubber stamp this farce. Now when, predictably, this ridiculous endeavor collapses on its face, we the city taxpayers are left holding the bag." - David WIlk

Would you rather be "holding the bag" for a new structure that includes indoor-skating?????
If you have some "need" to say "I TOLD YOU, SO!!!"...have at it, but (at least) give the Mayor/City Council credit for exploring the least-expensive option/experiment, to prove your point, FOR you!!!

How 'bout that...the City's giving you every opportunity to complain about SOMETHING...and, you're STILL whining/complaining about THAT??!!!
