Sick to your stomach!

February 7, 2013

I can’t remember so many Americans sick to their stomach as there are today in the USA. Why, because we have a president who supports principles contrary to our Constitution....

The only thing more ignorant and disturbing is that people actual agreed with it. I suppose however my statement is 'a special kind of stupid'. I see a lot of racial mudslinging about laziness, freeloading, and a lack of education here, however those individuals or families do the same.

No, Josh, not correct. If an employer makes a job offer, and the subsequent test proves positive, then the employer is required to inform the state if that individual is recieving benefits. I suspect the state, like our own, requires people to make at least a nominal number of attempts per week at finding employment, so a person, in theory, does not know when an offer is forthcoming.

"See what I mean? Blah, blah, blah. And still no rational, thoughtful discussion."

Pinecr's comments seem pretty thoughtful. I what percentage of the Sungazette's audience agree with him.

"Too bad we can't get rid of all of the bleeding hearts in this country and get back to being a strong USA that we once were."

So, should I assume that by your logic our country is no longer strong? Perhaps you are pining for the not so distant past when blacks had to use separate water coolers, or woman were subjugated beneath the white Christian oligarchy. Those times? You poor, poor thing...okay, everyone, group hug for pinecr!!!

Alan Cohick,

What you claim is recent has been going strong at least since the early 1960's.

And continues regardless of what Party is in control.

Where in the bible can I find that judging everyone with a different opinion is God's will? People have used religious arguments to justify pretty much every awful act committed in the past 2,000 years. Being a Christian is more than talking about it, and much more than being a tool to manipulate others. Oh, and 'His' should be capitalized...

So they are only sampling the pool of those who are actually SEEKING work?

Interesting.

Thx buff. As cool as it sounds to test for drugs in welfare recipients the reality is that it is pretty much a waste of time and resources. I'm sure those funds could be out to use in better ways, like maybe training for actual jobs that are in demand. If you ignore all the political bs and actually think about things it is apparent that much of what our govt does to help actually hinders and much of what sounds cool is just hot air--from both sides.

hi nobud, hers some rational and thoughtful information for ya.. it seems the state of Georgia has, for the past year, been requring businesses to inform them about any applicants who are recieving public assistance that fail a drug test as a precondition of employment, in an effort to deny them further benefits. The rub is that exactly one person in that year has tested positive. Similar measures in IN, WV and AZ, all at the behest of republicans, have yielded a less than 1% capture rate. It seems the stereotype of those on welfare as lazy and drug abusers promoted widely by republicans is not true. Imagine that..

"Santorum/Palin in 2016"

I could get pretty excited seeing a ticket like that. A Bachmann/Palin ticket would do about the same for me. Or you could even add a cup of T-Paw in there somewhere.

"Explain tail-gunner Joe then."

Lets rehash this for a second.

-YOU said that Sarah Palin, who's dumber than a pillowcase full of gasoline soaked toothpicks, simply HAD to be smart because she was the Gov of Alaska, and also was selected to be John McCain's running mate.

-I pointed out that someone didn't really have to be smart to hold elective office, and used President George W Bush as my example.

-Then your reply is "Explain tail-gunner Joe then"?

Are you having difficulty following along with this for some reason?

Mr. Cohick: He has all the answers; so the republicans need to nominate their God for president. That's what the dems did, and they won.
