I think that the devaluation of the American dollar has been Comrade Obama's goal all along. This is his answer to spreading the wealth. Make all of the people in America worth the same by making the dollar worth nothing and then introducing the Obama World currency that he will control in introducing onto the financial scene. 1984 will finally have arrived!

Obama wants to put America on a par with the rest of the world. He wants to get even with America because she's been prosperous for far too long, the envy of the world and the standard by which all other countries are measured.

Comrade? With the release of the Obama policy of targeting enemies, which includes Americans, for death through drone strikes this being the latest and most alarming example of the endless expansion of government power at the behest of Obama and his lackeys. That power is more befitting a king or fuhrer which we fought against, not a US President.

I see the cry babies are back. They seem to forget that their president allowed 9/11, launched two wars that they used credit cards to finance, initiated the patriot act (among other unconstitutional acts), and the economic collapse from which Obama brought us back. And what do babies do? They cry cause they can’t have their way. The majority of the American people don’t agree with your old ways. And that ain’t goona’ change. Welcome to reality. You lost. Good night.

Class144, you lost too. But you don't know it yet. You voted for a guy because he's cool, not competent. And when you use words like "their President" the game is up right away.

I could get into the BS in your post but why bother, you have your blinders on and no amount of truth is going to change your mind. We'll just have to settle for what transpires over the next 4 years. Obamacare is going to be a real hoot isn't it? Not even started yet and the cost has already gone up by 150% to 2.5 trillion with an expected 7 million people being dropped off their insurance just this year. Thats just a start.

They are out in force today. I voted for Obama because I know he can fix this mess that was left to him by the previous administration. As the republican party "reinvents itself" maybe they might get some candidates that will be worthy for the American people instead of those right wing ditto heads.

"You can thank Bush and Cheney for that."

No, you can thank the American people and their representives who voted overwhelmingly to go into Iraq and Afganistan. Did you want the 911 masterminds to go unpunished? Freedom is not free, it unfortunitly cost lives but also saved countless lives. If the Bush administration had done nothing and we were attacked again you would have been calling for his head on a platter. Someone needs to take away you emotion button and replace it with common sense.

"Uniformed voters know only one thing and that is who will send them money and that is the limit of their informedness. "

If you want to be technical, uniformed voters vote based upon a Party Name (Democrat/Republican/etc), I assume your point was to suggest people vote based on who is going to give them the most public assistance. I don't disagree with that, necessarily.

“No, you can thank the American people and their representives who voted overwhelmingly to go into Iraq and Afganistan. “

You should read more. The votes were the results of lies told by Bush and Cheney. Faked intelligence. Oh, and there was this little thing called rendition and torture, which was used to solicit the false intelligence. WMD’s? Never found. Not one. Good try.

“Did you want the 911 masterminds to go unpunished?”

What does that have to do with Bush knowing an attack was imminent, yet failing to act on it? Tell me.

Well Phil it was not the politicians who flood the economy with large amounts of currency or who keep interest rates down. That would be the Federal Reserve chairman. We are also trying to keep the US dollar competitive with other world currencies especially China's in order to build a more robust exporting business.

Inflation through devaluation of the dollar is not a function of the federal govt, as much as I despise them, it is a function of the Federal Reserve. The Fed was created nearly 100 years ago by a predominately Democrat vote, including a Democrat President. The Fed has little if any oversight by the govt and is a private entity that controls our currency. While it was formed with Democrat blessing and assistance, it has always been about making sure the wealthy who operate it will stay in power over our currency and thereby make lots of profit on it. Nothing happens to our currency or to inflation rates without the blessing of the Fed.

I wonder if the day will come when you wake up, and realize that your whack job conspiracy theories are a major factor in why your party is circling the drain.

“The biggest thing you don't forget is to cash your government check.”

No, Boobie. I never forget. Why? This wonderful little thing called direct deposit. The first of each month. I also get free medical and dental care for life from the Veterans Administration. And my wife and children get health insurance through Champ VA. And my children can go to any college they choose and have the tuition paid for by the VA. See, Boobie, your tax dollars are helping to pay for these things. And your tax dollars helped pay for my advanced degrees through the VA. These are the things the country does to help those who enlisted on their own with a common goal in mind – defend and support the constitution. So, thanks, Boobie. When ever I suffer too much pain, I think about people like you sending me their money. I love conservatives too. PS – who knows, I just might be teaching in a college near you? Those*****liberal academics. Like Bob Kerry, among others.

While it’s true the Fed is independent on paper, the chairman is a political appointee and operates guided by his or her ideology.

Government can pay for itself in one of three ways, taxes, borrowing or inflating the money supply. Taxes can be targeted to make politicians look good to their constituents. Borrowing hurts future generations and weakens the economy. Inflation, especially coupled with low interest rates erodes the value of investments, savings and fixed incomes and increases the cost of everything we buy, hurting middle and lower classes most of all.
