The service may be great, but the convenience is just not there. Beer sold at one store, wine and hard liquor sold at another just blows my mind. Not to mention, you have to go out of your way while shopping to just buy alcohol. The best advantage that I see in these state run liquor stores is that it makes it difficult for kids to get a hold of booze.

"Having lived almost have my life in New York and and the other half in the Williamsport area, I have seen and compared the difference in state stores and private wine shops. If the state stores are shut down, I will miss the friendly and professional service that I have long experienced from the specialty store at the Loyal Plaza, and the similar service from the Montoursville and Muncy Stores." - John Bianco

Having lived in PA, NY, CO, TX & IN, over the course of my life...as-well-as experiencing numerous/various sales-venues, between here & the West Coast...I can assure you that wine-stores AREN'T going to disappear. Like any other specialty-store, they survive...quite nicely...in environments where full-service liquor-stores are the rule.

Sounds like a union member/worried state store worker in disguise to me.

Yes the other states ant their awful privately run stores are dreadful. Most having a selection almost double the average Pa government run stores. And the prices! Other states generally run 20+% less than our government stores.

Basically in every aspect our stores suck.....unless your that overpaid employee looking to convince the uninformed sheeple otherwise

I'm just glad the money is going to fund schools. Maybe InBev will jump on board and sponsor some decent teachers in the area. Hallelujier! The worlds a’ movin’.

The sooner we get rid of the state stores the better.I have lived in Pa.near the states of Del.& MD.for 27 years and will not go to any Pa. state store for anything. Why would I pay 20+% more for the same thing I can get in Del.& MD.??? Opps OMG that's "unlawful",please don't turn me in.I pay taxes just like you and when I find it cheaper somewhere else;that's where I'm buying it from.
