My question for the writer is, Have you ever thought about the cost of running two jails? You would need a duplicate set of administrators and guards, you would need to duplicate facility maintenance and utilities. It wouldn't take very many years before the cost of running duplicate jails would outpace the cost of building one new one. That leaves open the question of if we really need one or not and I must confess that is a subject that I will have to look in to.

This LTE is a prime example of the sheeple mentality. Hook, line and sinker bought into the county's false prison crisis and spending mentality.

Bobbleheads like this keep the dolts in power that feel relevancy is spending taxpayer money on worthless pet projects.

First of all, as far as the 'empty prison' If it's truly going to be empty, I'd like to see them demolish it and put something useful there. While I'm against this whole "let's cater to tourists" bit that they've been doing I wouldn't be against seeing them put something substantial in terms of shopping or soemthing there, right near Wegmans. I wouldn't complain a bit about no longer having a Prison dead in the middle of the city. Same way I wish we didn't have a "s**t" treatment plant right in the middle of the city.

My question is for the Editor. Do you even read these letters before you publish them In our paper?
