if schools could and would just go back to the whole point of a school.. teaching the basics.. including advanced classes, there would be money saved. i dont understand why theres money to put a computer at every desk for children to use, unless you remove the teachers pay and use the computer to educate the child instead. up here, this one school district gave every child a laptop to use. why do they need a laptop, what happened to books and teachers, pens and paper?? i also read one of the schools there wants to hand out IPADS? WHY? this is a huge expense.

teachers, schools, need to be teaching reading, writing, math, history science.. mostly. some computer education is necessary, but not a computer in every class room at every desk. art and art history should be taught up to middle school only, and electives such as music, band and sports, well that needs to be funded elsewhere. i understand music, art and sports are essential some how, but if schools are having a hard time funding the basic education, then cuts need to be made somewhere. also the money spent on staff and landscape, and grooming football/soccer fields,, this is crazy. up here i see him mowing that field all week.

Asian Indians are waiting with all their money that they pool to buy up all the beer, wine and liquor licenses. They are not even United States Citizens. They have a strangle hold on the Hotel and Motel business, gas station stores and buying apartment complexs. I heard they just can't wait too get in the booze business!

I never understood the State Store thing. I have lived away from PA since I was 18 and we can by Beer,Wine, and Spririts in our grocery stores. It is more convenient for the consumer. Are State Store employees state employees with pension benefits? $40 billion shortfall in public empolyee pensions? That is 40 billion reasons for smaller government. Get rid of the "State Store".

Francine....Bear in mind, that spendaholic Rendell and the democrats are responsible for the gambling in Pa, and that they were offered first choice in "buying in." The democrats have spent too many years in control of spending in the commonwealth. Now, you want to blame Everett?
Why is it, that people moan and groan about the budget, etc., and then when someone actually trys to do something about it, you complain about that too.
I guess now that the republicans are in control and trying to repair some of the dem damage, you will want to vote them out and get dems back in to do more damage? Where does it end?
