( I Too Ride The City Bus, It Would Be Soo Very Nice And Oh-So Convenient For The City Bus To Run On Sunday. Living Here In Newberry There Is Not Any Grocery Stores In Walking Distance Only UniMart/Puffs. We Did Have A Dollar Store Here, Although Didn't Last. So Everyone In Favor Say "I" To The Buses Running On Sunday. I For One Would Appreciate And Thank You Most Kindly. Nice Write Up Sandy, You Go Girl Long Time Neighborhood Friend From The Port. :)

A good public transit system is important for the growth of the city. The people who ride it probably don't have cars and if you want them to work they need transportation. I'm sure our tax money can be better spent in more minimalist office space and way less advertising. Those funds could most certainly be better used.

I've never rode on city bus but talking to people that do, you can't even get a bus to South Side after 5pm. that means you have to be to transit station by 430. so you have to be off work b4 that. most people work past 4pm.

Does anyone know if it comes close to breaking even or is this another taxpayer-funded giveaway?
---
Most likely not. The majority of riders either ride at a discount or free of charge.

I am not familiar with the local transit system.

I'm not sure about the feasibilty of running as many buses on weekends as weekdays, but some buses should be run to accomodate people who work like Ms. Coffe. Passes should be made more easily accessable too. And lastly, a note to the editor: "Sandy Coffey has rode local buses for 40-plus years". Ummm, I think that should be "Sandy Coffey has ridden local buses for 40-plus years". But hey, I'm no newspaperwoman, so what do I know.
