Board continues to chip away at budget deficit

I'm not buying much into the "it's a formality" statement in regards to property taxes. They wouldn't be seeking approval for an exception to raise taxes above the state set limit if they weren't planning to raise it to the proposed amount. That's just my opinion but I think saying otherwise is a suggestion that we're all idiots.

I do not understand the reasoning board members and school district personnel use when developing a budget. Don't they have any idea in the world the income of persons living in the district? Taxes are increasing faster then the incomes of tax payers. Many people just can't keep coming up with more and more money every time they choose to raise taxes. Just like household budgets, if the money isn't there then cuts need to be made. Between the city and the school district I have been driven into poverty with no hope at all in sight.
