Does your God disagree somehow with the message? I mean it has to be "yours or mine" right? It couldn't be the same god?

"Nancy Pelosi once said, "But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what's in it....""

Do you people ever get tired of intentionally trying to mislead people? Nancy pelosi said this, because at the time there were SEVERAL VERSIONS OF THE BILL. Of course it doesn't really take a rocket scientist to figure this out, but sadly your average street level right winger has literally no idea how our govt works. It's like handing a rhesus monkey a rubiks cube. They just get a perplexed look on their face, and try and smash it.

To come to the defense of Pelosi with this gibberish leads one to the conclusion that Mr. Hayes has a crush on Nancy.

How would you fix our healthcare system, whole retaining great doctors? I have no answer, as the economics involved affect so many facets of our society. It seems everyone wants a magical power to come in to office and fix all of our problems. It is time to realize our healthcare issues are so deeply rooted that neither party has seriously tried to resolve because too many special interest groups supporting either party would be affected.

" To come to the defense of Pelosi with this gibberish leads one to the conclusion that Mr. Hayes has a crush on Nancy."

Looks like we have a winner for this mornings rhesus monkey with a rubiks cube award. Apparently, Premiere wasn't aware that bills in Congress typically have several versions that may get voted on, or may be withdrawn before a vote.

Apparently they also aren't aware that the House and Senate usually pass slightly different versions of bills, which then have to be reconciled by a committee after passage. For that reason alone, nobody knows what survives and gets dropped from legislation until AFTER reconciliation.

This isn't about a "crush" on anyone, its about accurate statements vs moronic.statements.

Someone please bring back is Schoolhouse Rock and play it on Fox "News".

Hayes, you can propagandize all you want. There may have been several versions of the Bill but they would have to be voted on one at a time. Pelosi's statement implied that nobody really knew what was in it that they just had to pass it for sake of passing it. Instead of trying to write good law, they intentionally set out to write an obscure one so the regulators could do what they wanted later. Do we need to do something about health care and insurance in American? You bet your butt we do. Was Obamacare the way to do it? NFW. As for Chuck, another brilliant one liner from his little black book.

I've been trying to learn as much as I can about the ACA before more regulations go into effect in 2014. In Oct 2013 we will be able to look up health insurance plans in our area (healthcare dot gov), but there are things you can do now to be prepared. I think even those of us with employer sponsored plans should at least be familiar with how this works in case our employers cease to provide coverage.

IRS dot gov has some information too about the tax side of things. Health insurance costs show on our W2 now so we can be more informed health insurance consumers.

I also found out the cost of the health insurance plan at work (it covers me and my husband): $15,569.16. I pay $4453.92, or 28.6% and the company pays the rest. Very sobering.

Question for those who understand this more than me: there will be a tax credit for lower income people to help pay for insurance premiums. Will this be applied biweekly (as in on a paycheck) -con't

-con't from below...

or will people have to pay out of pocket all year long and then get a tax credit/refund when they file their Federal income taxes?

You might ask why I'm worried about this, but we've asked our employer many times if they will continue to cover us after 2014, but they won't tell us.

I do think it will be interesting to come back in mid 2014 to see what happens and how it affects people in our area.

Nope, that's not true. Your repeated disambiguation if what she said implies that to YOU, or anyone else that has no freaking concept of the mechanics of how bills become laws. At the time she made the statement, there were MULTIPLE versions of the bill BOTH in the House and in the Senate. Under those circumstances, PRECISELY what she said was EXACTLY correct, in that not only did nobody know which versions of the bills would be passed by the House and Senate, but ALSO what would be in the final bill AFTER reconciliation.

Her statement was in effect affirming that a healthcare reform.bill WOULD be passed in some form.

If you aren't capable of understanding that, that's your deficiency not mine.

Please make more Schoolhouse Rock episodes, and reair the old ones. Getting them on Fox "News" immediately and frequently would solve a lot of problems. Besides, I have a feeling that children's programing might have a certain appeal to the Fox demographic. It could be a win win situation.

Texas, He is serious, the better question would be, "Are you really that stupid?" Most of us remember when she said that and it was when the House was going to vote on the final bill. Chris doesn't remember anything except what he read yesterday on some Communist blog. He drinks the Kool-Aid any time it's offered to him. His memory of history is so bad that he probably doesn't even know what the Kool-Aid metaphor means.

So you guys are telling me then that I'm right, and that you literally have no idea at all how our legislative process works, or how the reconciliation of different House and Senate versions of bills happen.

So please I'd ask you all to enlighten me. Let's say a particular bill has 7 versions in the House, and 5 versions in the Senate. Both bodies will pass.a bill. When do you know EXACTLY what's in the final bill?

First off, I didn't say that. Second of all, I agree with it to a certain degree. Money that people get from UC, is directly injected into private businesses REALLY fast. Of course if the only two models you're capable of understanding involve zero people receiving UC, or 100% of people receiving UC, then you might have a hard time grasping the benefit to the economy of circumstances between the two extremes, you know the circumstances that are actually the case in reality literally 100% of the time.

CHayes, Maybe you are the one who doesn't understand how the legislative proecess works. If one house votes for a bill without knowing what is in it and then the other house votes for a bill without knowing what is in it and then they compromise on a bill and vote for that without knowing what is in it, do you think they did a good job? Pelosi said her now infamous line when the House was voting on the final bill which was intended to be sent to the Senate and passed as is using an illegal trick. It was not going to face any changes and she knew that because she and Reid had planned it that way. The only question left is whether you are stupid, a liar or both. Go ahead and answer, I'll grade your answer later.

" Pelosi said her now infamous line when the House was voting on the final bill which was intended to be sent to the Senate"

The statement was made FOURTEEN DAYS, before the bill was signed into law, and before the Senate had voted on a bill. The "final bill" is what comes out if reconciliation AFTER both chambers vote affirmatively on their own version of bills.

Yesterday its the fake Jefferson quote, and today its this.

You are COMPLETELY misstating what happened out of a complete ignorance of how federal legislative and reconciliation processes operate.
