Children come first

February 24, 2013

I’ve seen a lot of negative letters regarding child care in the area, and I understand that we want what is best for the children, but we want what is best for all of the children....

As for the comments about other letters, I apologize Shaddi, I am a frequent reader online here, so I misinterpreted your statement, Sun Gazette is the only paper I read.

Shaddi, I appreciate your opinion, thank you for sharing it.

Also when I say in fact (as I discussed in a previous letter that had nothing to do with this issue) it's a habit, albeit bad, to use the word fact figuratively. No disrespect intended.

Shaddi, I don't know that we have formally met, I don't know anything of detail about you, but I've heard good things. I also agree that there are a lot of great people working in Day Care Centers.

As for your opinion on parents, I have met and spoken to many prospective parents in my time because many of them do come in an research facilities and find the right fit for their child. While some may not, those people are also the people who probably don't care about the opinion of some random person with internet access who wants to give them parenting advice.

Thank you for your thoughts, but instead of assuming a letter to the editor is a direct response to just you, how about you just read the letter and not decide to argue for no reason.

Wesley, first of all, if you are going to use the wording "in fact", it is best to follow it up with a fact. You disagree with my sentiment and that is fine, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But opinions and facts are two different things, so to refer to your opinion as fact is, "in fact", a little conceited. There have been letters recently portraying the childcare in the area in a negative light. In the Sun Gazette and other news outlets. My letter to the editor was in response to all of them, not just yours. Your so-called advice to fellow parents was also riddled with negativity. So I guess it was kind of advice AND something more.

As for being familiar with who I am, well gosh, I appreciate being known. I don't know you, if we've met you must not have made an impression on me, but thanks for familiarizing yourself with me, it is truly an honor.

As for where I currently work, I was not expressing a view of just one establishment.

Maybe you should read as well he was not making a negative comment he was commending the great people that are in the field!!!!

Also, because of the fact that you have a comment about everything that someone posts it really seem that you should learn that you mouth is really going to get you in trouble. I read the letters everyday as well as the comments and your name is always on there! HMMMM maybe you have an issue with life itself.

Furthermore I think every daycare has it's positives and negatives in the area.

Pitter Patter, which you're very familiar with, Bostely's, YMCA, Little Treasures, etc. It doesn't matter to me where a parent wants to take there children, I have no stake in it, but parents should be more responsible about choosing their daycare. We all, as parents have different needs. Some parents just don't take the time to really look at a daycare, good or bad.

Shaddi, you're right, mostly. But you haven't seen "a lot" of negative letters, in fact, you haven't seen any.

I wrote a letter, which was not intended as negativity toward ANY establishment but advice to fellow parents. Nothing more, nothing less.

Because I am familiar with who you are, I know where you work and I can assure you, it head nothing to do with that establishment or any other. I wasn't singling anyone out.

Thank you for your thoughts but instead of assuming someone was trying to negative, how about you just read the letter and consider the points.
