"They'll condemn the 323 semi-automatic rifle deaths in 2012 and neglect the 496 hammer deaths"

Ah, the deadly hammer again. Of course there were NOT 496 people killed with hammers, there were 496 blunt instrument deaths, and I very much welcome an investigation into what percent of blunt instruments on the streets today cause people to be killed vs. what percentage of guns.

And of course there weren't "323 semi-automatic rifle deaths" because there were also hundreds of deaths categorized by the FBI as "Other gun", which in most cases probably means the exact murder weapon was not known or found.

To complain that standing up to gun violence does not stop death by hammers is like saying Mothers Against Drunk Driving is not doing enough to stop gambling.

Chuck,"You are going to start you on the right do it to me all the time. The Second Amendment is not an absolute right."

Is part of the Second Amentment written in invisible ink? I've never seen the part where it says that unlike all of the other rights this one can be limited at any time, to whatever extend desired by any legislative body that desires to do so. A right that is not absolute is not a right at all. The only permissible limitation on any right is when the practice thereof infringes on the rights of another person. Owning a gun does not infringe anyone's rights. Shooting you with it without good cause, does, but that's already illegal so I guess we're covered.

EVERY right a US citizen has is limited in some way. Every single one. So the splainin' that needs to be done, needs to be done by you. Why would you think that the right to buy guns should NOT be limited like EVERY OTHER right a US citizen has, from voting to speech?

Chris, What country do you live in. In this country,we have rights that the government cannot take a way. As I explained, the only limit is that which prevents your exercise of your rights from harming someone else. Buying, owning and carrying any gun does not interfer with your rights or harm you in any way. You do not have the right to have everything the way you want it. You do not have the right to have everyone do exactly what you want.

So then you're saying I should be able to go to Home Depot, and buy a low yield nuclear device, because who could get hurt, right?

Or you should be able to have fully automatic weapons all over your house, when we the other members that have to inhabit society with you have no evidence that you aren't on a downward mental spiral, or maybe just the kind of person that takes proper care of their things, and would carelessly allow them to be stolen. Where's the harm, eh?

You said just today that society is on a downward spiral. Well, how does society know you aren't at the leading edge?
