The Amish Mafia? Isn't that a reality television show? This community should sign up for a reality school board show, because this production is bound for the red carpet. New laws made, professional ethics boundaries crossed, conflicts of interest, more drama, etc, etc, etc. Did anyone in this show ever read about the big boy who cried wolf? Testing hypotheses to create theories are better suited for lab experiments in classrooms, not in small groups of individuals who don't know they are pons. I can't say that I didn't get a chuckle out of the far fetched spin, but some people really need to think about their professional careers and where stuff like this could land them.

You're right Luey....board members taking money to close a school is criminal. NOW we all have to deal with the Amish Mafia. I think that lucky board member who lives in the valley will be delivered an extra large satchel of crisp new bills by a midnight drive by buggy! Yes...he's the only hold out.....so he gets more money than the other members. Maybe they could throw some of those bucks over...to buy off the union president...she'll throw members under the buggy for her own profit! Yes..an investigation is in order....now go SOSD posters and get to the bottom of this scandal. You can get rid of the board and the union president all at one time...what a coup!

"Amish are planning on buying the school and making it some kind of retail outlet, they knew this was going to happen, they were already throwing some money around and will buy the school and pay in cash and never pay a cent in taxes or ever pay a cent in property taxes." Jeff33 Feb-26-13 8:00 AM

biobabycj said people on the board were getting something as a reward, do you mean taking some money that was being thrown around by the Amish? That is a serious allegation!

I thought it might be a problem for the Oval Country Store to have competition with the Amish, but, for board members to be taking money to close a school is criminal.

CONSPIRACY THEORY SOLVED! The Nippenose Valley is becoming highly populated and people are selling property on the foundation of a community school. The Steinbacher and Stahl lawfirm has a petition in Lycoming County Court to redistrict and upset the current board to stop all closures. The union has a stake because jobs will be terminated. I really wish the Administration would tell the public this information, I had to get it from a board member. Thank you Carebear for directing me to ask him.

I see the union president post on SOSD FB page.....she's waiting for data to support school closings....funny....she has had this info. Wonder why she keeps up the fear mongering, finger pointing and 'tale' wagging...you out there in JS need to see the truth....the truth will set you free....free from fibbers...

BioBaby....Is that you R.Bierly? The union has the most to loose with a school closing and consolidation....wake up out there in JS....How much of every tax dollar is spent on staff? If you would just see the real truth in this issue and see how you have been manipulated by certain individuals....and the tactics...well...distract,smear and fear mongering...classic. This board has done it's due diligence concerning closing a school and formulating long range planning..all for the benefit of the taxpayers and students.

MomRN, I do believe someone is stooping to an all time low and that person has better English skills, don't you biobabycj? Some people will do anything to get rid of those board members and save unneeded jobs. Why are people not seeing the real savings with consolidation, ask bionabycj she is real knowledgeable in that area. Why would anyone conspire such allegations and then run away? Back in the day, they called that a yellow bellied sap sucker or a plot stocker. PSU, the boys won tonight

Luey22 I'm glad you posted your last posting. I couldn't believe such post from biobabycj! Biobabycj do you know something that we don't? The JSSD Board Members are NOT paid, and don't get Kick backs or whatever your implying. I agree with you Luey22- I think that needs investigated because that is a serious allegation.

The JSASD board of directors are on the take biobabycj? I think that needs investigated because that is a serious allegation. Where might the facts be gathered? I do beleive that a whole board was removed in Wilkes Barre/Scranton area for that.

Nufsaid6, there is little information on your site. It is an opinion page with a whole lot of the same things being repeatedly answered by the same person. It doesn't really serve a purpose to post the coat is navy blue, because there will always be someone who believes it is black. That is called in my book a waste of time.

nobody does anything like this for free. im very sure somehow they are rewarded for their so called knowledge and decision making. and last for me on this subject thank god im sure, why are you so called adults calling people names, and you yourselves are bullying? you act like its YOU that are in elementary school. there will be people that are not happy about the decision either way. i think some people are just hissed up because they dont get to make the decision. face it, school board members are going to make the decision THEY want to make. plenty of people have already stood up and fought for nves which stayed open another year, but, now they arent going to get their say, or their way.

Well...Nuf..if you're not Bethany... so what! You are part of the 'opposition'. Face facts...YOU have the obligation to reach out to the board members...how do people get so confused...is it in the water or is it the whispering going on behind the scenes by the union or even those smart valley girls...go chase your own tail!

Andy, are you talking to me? Bethany...I should be so lucky...she's gorgeous! And being belligerant. I am pretty sure we are all guilty of that because we all feel we are right. We are all passionate for our cause, despite which side you sit on. This is tiring. And pointless. All you can do at this point is reach out to your board reps to make your opinions known. Because they're not seeking you out. You need to go to them. Unfortunately, we won't know WHO was right until a move (any move) is made. A long, long time from now. And hindsight is always 20/20.

Bethany...does it take a stick of dynamite to get through to you....the decision has been made to close the school...the rest is just legal formality....why are you so blind to facts....now is the time for YOU to do something positive and get behind the district to make this transition smooth and stop being so belligerent...

Instead of crying about the FB page, why don't you take part in the dialogue and leave comments or information links that you feel would be beneficial. We can get the ball rolling on healing the 'great divide.' :) I've checked out the site myself but know that obviously it's just one place to visit for info. The more people talking about solutions and sharing information, the better. Knowledge is power!

I really do feel you all have strayed pretty far from the main point here. Why on Earth can't everyone simply work together and find a middle ground? The walls are up, people are angry for a number of reasons, yet no body seems willing to meet in the middle. I may have an opinion as long as it's in line with yours? Do we want a bunch of 'yes men' running around? People can gather information any way they seem fit to do so. Wiki, JSASD site, FB, talking to others, emailing their board reps...there's no perfect one way to get the info but don't criticize people for looking for answers and asking questions. Be willing to settle on some middle ground. The relationship between public & board can be fixed.

Have been perusing the Save Our School Website and have to thank Joy Oliver Cluster, Raye Francis Beirly and Bethany Bassett McClain for their answers here. Could someone explain how to print conversations off of that webpage? It would appear there is no data, but a lot of no thank you for the truth.

To read about such negative broadcasting out of my former students hometown is disheartning, because I recide there 8 out of 12. I personally know the President of your school board and she has worked for me in many capacities within the college structure. I am not within your state limits currently and that is why my time structure is different. I know that the structure within our town must not be cemented to adhere with concurrent fluency through out. Your school district must be amongst descention, it is apparent in the broadcasts. I wish her the best of luck in her endeavor to cherish every student as their ownself and support a thoughtless endeavor I told her 8 years ago was thankless. I admire her volunteerism, not just any person can give when they have a big family of their own. I polished off the rudeness in remarks under this hometown paper knowing who I know and not who I do not. I support my students from a far, you go girl and make me proud.

All info concerning anything happening in the district is public and available for the public to review...no excuses for 'the opposition'! No rush here Valley...this has all been in the pipeline for YEARS...have you been paying any attention at all. One last comment for those that like to bully, disrespect and ridicule....Your school board president has a Bachelors degree in Education and a Masters in Curriculum. Does anyone in the peanut gallery of criticizers have any valid education to back all their foolishness?...Her constituents should be so fortunate as to have someone so willing to devote such time, talent and energy to represent those taxpayers and students.

Andy, read the Save Our Schools Website. Bethany McClain has a disclaimer that she is not the only person who can post and send out on facebook free floating material to the site acceptors. To many lackeys involved in the process. What information do they provide, JSASD website pirated information and WIKI fast type material? I would suspect that some are not followers and I would caution everyone. Your board may be the strongest I have seen them in 10 years, keep it up guys and gals....some people still have faith in the system.

Valleyparent2008, are you truely serious? Just because you are the minority you find it respectable to be calling people idiots, jacktards, making fun of their medical conditions, etc.? You represent exactly what Sue Zell described as the bullies that torture her son daily. Unbelievable! I think the constant picking is irritating to the community to watch also. Use your representative and the administration. The financial trend in this Country isn't looking to promising for seniors or anyone else mind you. Why so much anger

I guess the big question is, what happens when the people in opposition fail to succeed with the redistricting they put into motion? The thought of redistricting right now is absolutely ridiculous when there could be a chance of having three crazy valley people on the board instead of only one!

and... Why the Big RUSH to make rash decisons. Why are they not waiting for facts, instead of being blindly led. There should be no question to any of the issues at hand before demanding to forge forward. Especially when so many tax payers and CHILDREN will be impacted. That is not using sound judgement. Nor is it acting in the best interest of the CHILDREN. Which is what this is supposed to be about.
