Slow down

February 27, 2013

I would like to remind everyone driving through the Salladasburg area (especially those working for the gas industry)....

I don't believe the writer was referring to 287, I am thinking she was referring to the road that goes through Salladasburg. There is not one road that does not have the same problem throughout this area now that the gas industry is here and nothing is being done about it.

Maybe they need to put in massive amounts of speed bumps.

In reality there are a lot of areas where speeding is a problem, which was the point of my initial comment.

I also agree with the letter and joe123.I was driving the same stretch of 973 east and a landfill roll of truck was up my rear at over 60mph.I thought I ticked the guy off or something and he was going to run me off the road.Nope turns out he was just in a big fat hurry to get to who knows where. If I lived along 973 I'd find a way to slow um down and it wouldn't be pretty.

Start up a Police Department, it would pay for it self in fines alone just sitting on 287 and poping gas trucks!

To Joe, maybe they need to put up a camera or something, catch those trucks speeding. Idk how they can handle that situation but frankly, if I were you, I WOULD go to Fred Hamm and the Landfill and lodge a complaint, your displeasure is more than justified.

Tbh, most of 287 is straight and not as close to houses as other roads through Salladsburg and surrounding areas. I think the speed limit in SOME areas of that road, should be higher than it is. Having said that, it's not, and in that, I agree with the letter. But at the same time I hope that the same people complaining about the speed problems in Salladsburg take the same respect onto the highway and down through various areas of Williamsport (where I live).
