My kingdom

March 1, 2013

A budget, a budget, my kingdom for a budget! All the drama that has been, and will continue to occur, would not have taken place if our wonderful government and the President pass a budget....

Hayes,

Your leader only leads through fear mongering. Since his favorite ploy is fear, he needen't look any further than his heart...deep..dark!

Chuck,

"Enigma you have no character."

Enigma has more truth in his/her total sum of posts here than Obama has in one day in office. Talk about compare/contrast!

You, like Sham make these one liners, with no substance, much less truth.

"I don't think anyone disagrees that it will cost between 700,000 and a million American jobs."

Democrat Congresswoman Maxine Waters said it would cost 170 million jobs, so there's at least one who disagrees.

The sequester was moronic. I don't think anyone disagrees that it will cost between 700,000 and a million American jobs. And Republicans love it. I'm very reluctant to say that any mainstream political party would actively seek to hurt Americans, but the Republican party isn't really "mainstream" anymore. A year ago, they were trying to force the first default on America's debt in our nation's history, a few months ago they were cheering high gas prices, shortly after that, they could hardly contain their glee that a US embassy was atacked and staff killed, now they're just tickled.to take food out of the mouths of poor people, cut veterans benefits, and kill around a million jobs.

The sequester was designed to be so utterly stupid, that even the dumbest moron in DC wouldn't want to let it happen. The Republican party just keeps surprisingAmerica.

Speaking of the sequester, now that it is in effect, has Obama decided whether to cut programs for poor children or cut funding for disabled children? Since he MUST cut from one of these groups, I hope it's the poor ones since being poor is a choice (made by the child's parents) while true disabilities are not.

" The Budget Control Act sets constraints on spending."

The fact that 12 Republicans disagree with that statement is a clear demonstration of why Republicans have little to no place in governing. The Budget Control Act is what just triggered the sequester geniuses.

[shaking head in disbelief]

"Actually, if there is no budget (good work Harry) there are no spending restraints. Obama can then blame Congress for not doing their job and blame it on the Republicans. And, when the debt ceiling is reached, he can blame Republicans for not wanting to "compromise" and take away services that are there to protect "the most vulnerable" of us." - JohnZook

Chuck,"They cry out for leadership yet refuse to be lead."

Chuck does not know what leadership is. Being elected does not make a person a leader. To be a leader you have to have character that would make others want to follow you. Very few in all of Washington possess such character. Obama is not a leader, Reid is not a leader and Boehner is not a leader. They are dictators. They expect people to do what they say, just because they say it. A true leader would show that he will be accountable with my taxes before he demands that I pay them. One way to do that would be to have a reasonable budget.

Boy what a true statement that is. All I ever hear is a bunch of whining and carrying on and a bunch of no, no, no, no matter what Obama says.

Anyone interested in why the Senate hasn't passed a budget, should red the extremely short Feb 15th article from the Economist titled "Why the Senate hasn't passed a budget". The article also points out why it doesn't really matter.

I said Congress nobud, I did not say Republican or Democrat. Others like you will try and make it partisan. Congress failed period, all of Congress. They can not nor will not pass a budget bill that all can agree to. They are so stuck on their ideologies they refuse.

The real truth, budget impasses do not affect the legislative body.
