Grumpy Old Party

March 3, 2013

What is WRONG with the GOP? I always considered myself a conservative Republican farmer i.e. let me alone! But lately I am just about to change my party registration....

I sign paychecks, big deal you do so with a chip on your shoulder and begrudged. As a customer I pay you, you ungrateful parasite.

I earn a paycheck every week. Guess what the owner doesn't make them out he hired someone to do it for him. Talk about lazy! He doesn't even sign them it is done by a stamp.

Clueless Bobbie doesn't see how much of a parasite she is. By the way I have signed the front of a check, I make out several every month.

"Where are President Obama's proposed spending cuts?

He promised over and over to do this."

So you went to the White House website and read the proposal, and you still don't understand?

Hi texas, sorry, but your guess is incorrect.. the numbers apparently reference a large neck or shirt size accompanied by a disproportionately small melon.. quite an amusing, and telling, mental image.

Hi bornhere, you need not fear asking anything of me.. unlike others, bobbie2 for example, I haven't the inclination nor the proclivity to be insulting. Not generally my nature although, in all fairness, certain folks on here can be an almighty trial.. watching The Amazing Spiderman now.

Thanks Texas sometimes I'm afraid to ask questions on here because you never know what answers you might get.

"Bobbie, please explain to me what is 19/5? You seem to have your own language." - BornHere

+++

BornHere, I am curious to hear also. I would have preferred to use 19/3 and that may be indeed what was intended to be used. 19/3 is a number that never stops; it repeats the same, ie 6.3333333333..... and never stops.

There have been some times that BuffTrev1 asks a question and you answer it. Then a couple of weeks later, he asks the same question and you answer it again. Then a couple of weeks later, the same or similar question comes up and you answer it again. So my take is that it is the pattern will always repeat. :-)

Of course, I have been known to give similar comments on a variety of LTEs so I may also be the same repeating decimal.

Just a guess!

Hi bornhere.. 19/5 is directed toward me, I believe it is bobbie2s neck size and hat size. Not exactly sure how that is meant as an insult as thats his/her modus operandi.. have a nice evening, going for a walk w my 17 yr old..

Don't forget about the phone. I hear membership comes with a free phone. Erick Erickson at Redstate may disagree, but I digress...

Hey Jay, Go ahead and change parties. It's obvious that whatever you considered yourself, that you were never conservative. You may have been a Republican sheep, but sheep are better suited to the Democrat party. When you switch, they will have some delicious Kool-Aid for you to drink, and you will never need to think again.

Mr. Reeder:

The Jobs Act was proposed, but never introduced by a Democrat legislator. Therefore, it never made it into Congress and was opposed by most Democrats.

Nice try.

Sweet, both Liz Mair and Josh Barro on. A couple of very interesting young Conservatives.

Speaking of Dr. Krauthammer, he writes:

"A 2011 GAO report gave a sampling of the vastness of what could be cut, consolidated, and rationalized in Washington: 44 overlapping job-training programs, 18 for nutrition assistance, 82 (!) on teacher quality, 56 dealing with financial literacy, more than 20 for homelessness, etc. Total annual cost: $100 billion to $200 billion, about two to five times the entire domestic sequester.

"Are these on the chopping block? No sir. It’s firemen first. That’s the phrase coined in 1976 by legendary Washington Monthly editor Charlie Peters to describe the way government functionaries beat back budget cuts. Dare suggest a nick in the city budget and the mayor immediately shuts down the firehouse. The DMV back office stacked with nepotistic incompetents remains intact. Shrink it and no one would notice. Sell the firetruck — the people scream and the city council falls silent about any future cuts."

So true.

Speaking of Up w/ Chris Hayes, he was also discussing how Progressive groups are using the fiscal argument in relation to death penalty cases and marijuana laws and how that might not be a good strategy in the long run. Very interesting.

Understand, and it's just as I wouldn't dispute the veracity of information presented by Dr. Charles Krauthammer.

Sorry Gav, I wasn't trying to impugn what you said, but rather to point out I didn't run around yesterday claiming "the Washington Post is reporting...", like many people here are apt to do.
