Maybe this guy is right. I support a single payer system.

what I think is sad is that the flashy promises are more about purchasing votes with others wealth. We are giving people, even those in need, things we can't pay for. Our politicians seem ill aware. When the currency is devalued, interest rates shoot thru the roof, stocks collapse, I wonder if we'll remember why.

I didn't make it passed the first line of this letter.

"Take lessons from our Mayor and Governor". I am hoping that was sarcastic, but I couldn't bring myself to read anything else because..we have one of the worst Mayors Williamsport has ever seen.

"As all business owners know, our health insurance rates have doubled in just 2 years, when we were told that they would not go up." - Dr. Richard Troxler DMD

*

So...what you're saying, is...when for-profit health-insurance companies promised the President they wouldn't NEED to increase their rates...if the President required EVERYONE to participate...those health-insurance companies LIED to the President???

Gee...who saw THAT coming??

The CBO revised its cost numbers on the affordable care act (proving our president lied about its cost and impact) and the media hardly reported it. Our Gov officials didn't read the law and yet they passed it. Something so serious to each and every person in the US and they couldn't read it. The solution is they be forced to use it. Then lets see how they feel. Lets also see how better the system gets or not, and like the huge deficit spending, let history correct the falsehoods of our leaders actions.

Just remember, the outrageously expensive and deficit monster known as the Affordable Care Act was passed without one Republican vote!

Keep that in mind when you get the bill.

Meanwhile, our President foretells doom from the sequester while granting Egypt another $250 million in emergency aid.

"He has just concluded some very difficult negotiations for services that our city provides. I now see a police and fire department among the best I have ever seen." Is Dr. Troxler saying that it was the negotiations that made the fire and police departments better at doing their jobs?

Shaman saw it coming, but the President had no idea. Scary that our academically elite President is no smarter or better informed than a contributor to the SG LTE comment page. Shaman, I will recommend you for the 'health insurance czar'. Interested?

Republicans don't do anything, that alone is a big problem.

The Republicans do a heck of job scaring themselves with their own stories.

Of course Obamacare is not in full effect and they way republicans have dug in their heels to weaken the economy and growth it will take even longer.

The Dumbascrap Party motto: "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!" Their slogan: "Watch our right hand (SO YOU CAN'T SEE WHAT OUR LEFT HAND I DOING!)." Alternate slogan: "How are we going to fool the people today?"

It's necessary to slow this incredibly awful piece of garbage legislation down to diminish the overwhelmingly destructive effect it will have on the economy. Weaken the economy? What could have a more weakening effect than Obama completely unopposed?

I think we all get that Republicans hate Obamacare. But I'm curious, what do you Republicans wish for instead? What would you replace it with?

Valves.. the exact same system is currently in use in holland, with few differences.. it works well there by all measures, why do you not think it could work as well here? The Republicans are supposed to be about individual responsibility and supported the individual mandate for almost 25 years, why do you not support it now?

And you people wonder why some folks don't think you should have guns? Really?

I certainly hope the ACA expands access to mental health services.

Very smart and infomed response! You are to be commended! BTW, you might want to look up the definitions of 'exact' and 'same', then assess and reconcile how, if it's 'exact' and the 'same', there are 'differences'! The amount of money lost in the system causes it to be barely sustainable, despite having among the highest tax rates in the world. The answer, of course, is COMPETITION. Encourage comparison shopping for non-emergency, non-life threatening situation services. Allow medical service providers to advertise prices. People can make educated, informed choices, based on price and reputation. Of course, leftists trust government, not people. People are too dumb, according to them, to live their own lives free of government interference. Also according to leftists, government knows best in every instance.
