"this man is disabled apparently. possibly through no fault of his own. he cant walk and maybe cant use his limbs very well. he could have lost this fighting for YOUR freedom."

Look closely at the photo. The guy isn't in a wheel chair but riding a scooter. I know a couple of people with scooters who can get about just fine.

The Scooter Store is the nation’s largest provider of powered mobility, which includes electric wheelchairs and scooters, and is being investigated for fraud of many millions of dollars. (And that's just ONE STORE!!!! In addition, this means there are doctors that are writing unnecessary prescriptions, and medicare/medicaid PATIENTS, that are also involved in the fraud. If fraud was being properly addressed, expansion in using taxpayer dollars wouldn't be necessary.

i think theres a misnconception of medicaid,,, and medicare. medicaid seems to be what all the people who cant stop breeding and cant get off their backs long enough to work a real job get to pay for their trips to the ER for minor boo boos.. or their dozens of kids with snot noses. medicare is insurance for seniors and people with obvious disabilities. i personally do not know Jesse, but ive seen him at wegmans, and ive read so many articles about him. i raise him up waaaay above some of you jackholes in here that seem to judge people in wheelchairs. jesse is an awesome guy, just from what i read and if i still lived there i would be honored to be his friend and supportive.

Note: To T-Baggers

"A study released in January by the Pennsylvania Health Law Project and the Pennsylvania Office of Rural Health showed rural Pennsylvanians [1] are more likely than their urban counterparts to have more serious health care needs. It also found that rural residents tend to be uninsured for longer periods of time than urban residents."

"The man in the wheelchair that so many of you are so critical of, was making a presentation about how his medicare paid for aide actually saves the state money"

My apologies. I did not realize that he was lobbying FOR the current system that(in its current form)has helped him greatly. My understanding was that there was a push to change the system that seems to work now--given the example here in the comments. Why change something that works for its given intent. Those that need it can get the assistance they require.

Again my apologies for misunderstanding.

This is Jesse (a.k.a. Rising Crow). Yup, the guy in the photo. First of all, I JUST stared my gallery a month ago with the full intention of getting myself and others with disabilities OFF of public assistance. Secondly, as soon as I can afford it, I'll be happy to purchase my own health care plan like anyone else. But what business owner can afford it within the first few years of being in business?

Grasshopper---have you seen the SG's editorial page? And you think they have a liberal POV?

No, but every player in the article does.

It has nothing to do with reforming or fixing Medicaid...Its a Trojan horse policy to lay the foundation for "single payer"

And shame on the rest of you for exploiting a disability to attack my argument. Vile and disgusting....I mentioned NOTHING about his disability in my discussion.

Absolutely, 424, I also want my grandchildren to have dirty water, air, and live in a toxic waste dump so "the wealthiest of us all" can have a few more tax loopholes. You remind me of a poor, misguided lemming following his Savior".

Jesse should know that the press will be using him as a prop. Most reporters and news folks are "low information" and do not go after the truth as they did 20 or 30 years ago. They are the mouth piece for Big Government. America can not afford a media that is not honest.

2. If you ignore 1 carry flood insurance

"And the photo was typical "guilt trip" using a victim."--bingo!

Where's the photo of the middle-classfamily who can't afford healthinsurancebecause his taxes are sohigh?-- doesn't generate phony outrage or help further the agenda.

If the man you speak of is truely disabled(which I am not questioning) then he should be or already be covered under the current Medicaid plan? I would think so....

Obviously Sturla thinks money grows on trees. He believes that you must take the Fed Money cause if you don't someone else will. Sturla like many politicians are low information, they fail to see that Government has no money until they take it from those that work or print it. Mr. Sturla needs to recognize the "affordable care act" is anything but affordable. This will result in lower quality health care and insure this country will be bankrupt. It is funny, all the low information people that support this nonsense will go down in flames with the rest of us and not understand why.

So Mr JohnZook, we shall just let those fend for themselves, survival of the fittest. If you don't make it, not my problem as long as I don't pay for it. I love those, usually on the right, don't spend my money. That is unless I need it. Kind of like a flood. After a flood the people scream "where is the government."

The man in the wheelchair, whose name was given in the photo caption, is Jesse McKinney. Jesse is severely disabled because of cerebral palsy. He is also, despite almost overwhelming obstacles, a Penn State graduate, a father, a published author, a former national wheelchair bodybuilding champion through many hours of hard work to develop his strength, an artist, and a business owner, having started a local art gallery to showcase and sell the work of other artists with disabilities. There but for the grace of God go you, and when you someday need assistance, I hope more compassion is shown you than you have demonstrated here.

It is so obvious that most of you people were not there. The man in the wheelchair that so many of you are so critical of, was making a presentation about how his medicare paid for aide actually saves the state money. If it was not for his aides, he would be in a nursing home which would cost "YOU?" more. For those not eligible for medicare and eligible to get an aide, end up going into a nursing home causing a great financial drain that ultimately ends up getting paid for by "YOU". Also, the man in a wheelchair, is a business owner. I don't know if that matters to you or really if it is any of your business. At some point, you will likely all be recipients of medicare. One visit to a nursing home for rehab will do it. To deny that to others because maybe you think that they are not old enough, or not rich enough, or not poor enough is something I would expect in a third world country. Not the best country on earth. Not the country my father fought for!

biobaby, I agree with your comment 100%. Some people on here consider people in wheelchairs to be parasites and not human beings, my husband is a Vietnam Veteran who is in a wheelchair and is a human being.

I firmly believe that some do abuse the system and that goes for the LEFT and the RIGHT but some people are DISABLED and need our help, people need to be less judgmental.

And before anyone asks I am not a Liberal, I am a human being.

Where's the money going to come from after three years when the state has even less money? We don't have any money now, and for the emotions of guilt and compassion, we're going to saddle taxpayers with another bottomless pit for their tax money. Ask yourself, what program(s) has the government ever run successfully? And the photo was typical "guilt trip" using a victim. Where's the photo of the middle-class family who can't afford health insurance because his taxes are so high? Liberals have absolutely no class!

it really disgusts me to see you people looking down your noses at people in wheelchairs!! so, everyone that rolls by that cant walk you hate on already?? i know some of the most amazing people that are disabled, paralized from the waist down and have some mental disabilities as well.. i dont look down my nose at them or hate on them because.. THEY ARE HUMANS TOO JUST LIKE ME AND YOU.. they cant hold a good job, but some do some kind of work. they have to have some kind of medical assistance to help with all the needs that they have. if you EVER get disabled, or strickened with something terrible that you need medical help with you will suddenly find out how much you cant afford..Give these people a chance, quit HATING and treating people in wheelchairs like crap.. they are people too and im sure they are much better people than you snot nosed jerks posting crap like this in here. shame on you.

Inserting fake/false statements in an argument to initiate phony outrage--liberalism 101.
