YMCA officials unveil design, layout for new city facility

People need to visit and tour the Y to see the programs they implement. It’s not just “babysitting”. They work at preparing children for entrance into kindergarten, high school & college. They have proven records of increasing graduation rates and decreasing high-school drop outs. They design programs to decrease health problems caused by being overweight for young and old alike. They have many programs to help decrease crime & drug/alcohol abuse and increase service to the community through collaborations with other organizations. I too used to think they were just a gym or babysitting function. I had my eyes opened when I started doing some research and saw all the good they do.

TheMoe, you DO realize that there is a second floor, right? Also, the area that someone called a food court is a playground. PEOPLE -- the plans are in the lobby of the downtown Y. Go look at them if you are interested.

Moe, I'm curious what you're basing that off of, other than the basketball court and what sort of looks like an outdoor food court on the opposite corner, i can't tell what anything is labeled as. I do see that a lot of the 'middle' area is offices.
