Again Jeff33, your lack of knowledge amazes me!!! If you once held any LE job, I'm shocked. No wonder you don't have it anymore, you're....well; enough said.

Any crimes that happen in the jail are handle by the county detective! The Sheriffs Department transports inmates back in forth to the prison and state prison at Camp Hill and handles civil papers and P.F.A.s. Old lycoming needs to stay in their own area and not want to be a Trooper, Troopers go through the Academey not drop out and run home with their tail between their legs Chief, Chief Casale can I have my old job back.

Mikekerstetter, Jeff33 is a special breed of person. He has a problem of "foot in mouth" disease! He is generally off base with his comments of any sort. Actually here is Wmspt, the Sheriff does investigate crimes that happen within the jail. They serve warrants, assist other law enforcement agencies, participate in DUI enforcement and enforce traffic and criminal code. If i've missed something please let me know. Jeff33, Old Lycoming's Twp does include the highways. In your opinion (once again) should they not worry about what happens there? What if you are travelling through the area and your in an accident up there and require help from the Police? Since you do not think Old Lycoming should be there, now you're left with PSP and they cannot respond! What do you do? Jeff33, please use the thing in your head that God hopefully gifted you with before you spew your lame opinions!!!

My uncle was caught between two parked cars and cut in half by the bumpers when a DRUNK ran into them, later I saw two girls smoke DOPE and get into a car pulling straight onto the road and running over a man and woman I watched the woman die crying and her father crying as he watched his daughter die. IT'S A PUBLIC SAFETY ISSUE

Jeff, here in PA the Sheriff's Department are not 'Law Enforcement' like they are in other states. While they do some Law Enforcement stuff, they don't go out and investigate crimes, traffic enforcement, etc. Like with our liquor laws, PA is backwards with it's Sheriff's department too.

Why doesn't this Old Locoming Township Police Department mind whats going on in their Township and let the State Police or the Sheriff Department handle the D.U.I. Task Force,D.O.T. Truck Violations and this!

"A day reporting center is expected to alleviate some of the prison crowding issues that have plagued the county since mid-2012.

"If someone's in the county prison because of drugs or alcohol and it's not technically a public-safety issue, I can say, 'If you're doing what you need to do on a 90-day sentence, I can let you out in two months and seven days,' " Butts said."

The County needs to be congratulated for not "caving" to the John Wayne fans (as usual)!!
