For once I disagree with you David. I don't think this a good letter it makes a comparison where there is no true comparison. All that it accomplished was even more absurd comments about pigs and people making them look like they had rolled around in the mud with the pigs.

The gas industry is not feral by any stretch of the imagination. Both are problematic but not on the same level.

What's the difference between these feral pigs and the 51% parasite demographic? The pigs do have some useful value. Besides I thought Rats were infavor of non native invasive species, just give em a green card.

I think it was a good letter. Marty points out the incongruity of focusing on the damage caused by feral pigs while encouraging another activity (drilling) that is causing a great deal more damage. It is the kind of incongruity that is often seen in any large bureaucracy. I don't think he really chooses to root for the pigs. I think he is just employing some figurative language to help make his point.

In his letter, Marty tripped over the truth, but he just got up and kept on going. Gas drillers have permission to drill and they pay very well for that permission. The pigs just come and take what they want and don't pay. The drillers stay within an agreed on boundary while the pigs just go where ever they want. And then there's the fact that the drillers produce something useful for us. But the biggest difference is that each of the drillers is a person, and the pigs are just pigs. Comparing people to pigs is a loathsome tactic employed by such admirable groups as Nazis and Islamic extremists. Is that really the path you want to take Marty?

There's no need to apologize, for that.

As a Lib who'd lived in Austin, for a year-and-a-half (yeah...I know...Austin isn't really part o' Texas), I'm hoping a majority of you aren't part o' that population (down, there...with an obvious inferiority-complex) who thinks everyone blames Texas for Kennedy's assassination. I was SHOCKED when I'd first heard that, down there. Also, we DO have some "troubled" local-residents who are Cowboys-fans, so you do have some NFL-brethren, here.

BTW...what do we "Yankees" call TEXANS, who've re-located, here...'cause I'd like to get some serious pay-back!!

I almost forgot to mention, please use a rechargeable 6 or 12 volt battery with a solar panel in the feeder. We don't want to be disposing a lot of used batteries in the landfill; we need to reduce pollution.

You may also need to add the wire cage around the thrower to keep the rac***** out.

Marty you seem to be confused about something. The gas industry doesn't harm the environment or hurt the wildlife.

Look at all of the positive things they have done like renaming Williamsport, "BOOMTOWN". LOL

Load the deer feeder up with corn and get the hogs used to a feeding schedule. They will scare away the deer when they come in. Then take your semi-automatic, large clip, hunting rifle and set up in a tree stand and wait for the hogs to come in and harvest the one(s) that you want. Head shots please. Need to get the PA Game Commission to support the idea of hunting over feeders from permanently built tree stands; they might do it for hogs.

I like to season my feral hog with "Slap Ya Mama" brand seasoning as a dry rub and then smoke it in my Cajun Cooker/smoker with hickory wood. Make sure you also use the water tray so that it doesn't dry out. Towards the end of the smoking process, I will brush on some Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce. Then I serve it on a plate as part of the main course. Leftovers can be made into pulled pork sandwiches by adding a little more of the barbecue sauce.

As one of the non-native species that you're referring to, I'd like to clue you up to some additional activities that we're into. Not only do we do some of the things you accuse us of, but we do some other things aa well. Like create a few jobs for the original non-native invasive species or contribute large sums of local, state and federalism taxes!
