Concerned Citizens Group = Save Our School District

The board of concerned citizens = the board on SOSD website

Bethany McClain isn't the poster for SOSD website, she posts as herself.

Can anyone name the 9 board of concerned citizens and briefly describe their special interest or agenda?

LaughIn, I read all of biobabycj's complaints, what short memories of prior posts they must have (and lovely bleeped words that must be ban from this site).

I recall a few years back Burt Francis suggested us retired individuals in Jersey Shore seeking out reverse mortgages to pay our taxes. I checked out what they were and why would someone with a combine total of 265 years in the education business suggest that? Basically you borrow against your property and stick your children with the bill.

Still reviewing the information section of the Jersey Shore Website, it is hard to read sideways.

you would think some of these "been out of school over 40 years ago" people would have matured by now. guess not. keep fighting like a typical child and bully. back in those days parents were thankful there were rides. back in those days parents told kids to be seen and not heard, so those that got abused and sexually abused were never allowed to report it, and when they did, shame on them.. those were the olden days. things have changed now. some of you must be losing your old mind because half of the things you claim i have stated were wrong. we joked as kids when we did something stupid that we went to jshs. it was a JOKE but some of you dont know what that meant. here in my comment section i have never stated some of those things you are making up.. grow up. everyone is entitled to a comment without someone else having nothing better to do than bash everyone else on here. just because your comment is different than someone elses doesnt mean either one is wrong, its how u

OMG...coffee after school and this comment section is still going on? Yes Laughin, clarification on grammar would help with comprehension.

Biobabycj, 40 years ago I had two classmates who rode the bus for over 2 hours. One lived up 44 past Happy Acres, and the other in the Black Forest area (+35 minutes up the road). I never heard either complain about the ride and their parents sure didn't demand special helicopter transportation service. I rode for over an hour, my children rode for over an hour with one bus exchange...what is your point? I wish you would get to a point because to recap your complaints (bus rides, bullying, foul language, directors living in luxury, getting healthcare benefits, rewarded, JS culture is bad, JSE is trashy, and the list goes on..)with the truth doesn't work. There possibly is some method to your madness, but it makes little sense to me. The age of Entitlement isn't looking to prosperous for us older folks. Laughin don't respond to sink(H)er.

luey, my post is very clear, apparently you ARE on the smoke.. im trying to pull my head out of my arse to see things from YOUR point of view. im also trying to see both sides of the fence. my question for you all is.. if you lived say,, at the very bottom of 654 where the last JS bus stop is and your child was six years old, would you feel comfortable sending that child probably at 630am out to the stop, riding bus with foul mouthed fighting bullies from jr and sr high all the way over the valley, up collomsville or out coldwater town road and then back all the way into jersey shore arriving approx 750ish? would you want that for your six year old child? im saying this because i started JSsd when i was in fifth grade at nipp. i rode the bus with sr high kids, who were a tad bit more respectful than kids today cuz we all got our arse beat if we were bad, and it was an hour long ride, we also had to go up to catholic school then up collomsville, sometimes cold watertown road. long ride

School director redistricting is an agenda item for Wednesdays meeting according to the Sun Gazette. Last week Ms. Stahl asked the board to put off the school closure hearing until new directors were brought onto the board after the election. My representative told me that Ms. Stahl petitioned the court for equal representation from the Nippenose Valley and a total change in board structure has resulted with the elimination of one seat in the borough of Jersey Shore. He also explained that the last election was interesting because Ms. Beirly stood all day at a voting poll downtown and other educators uptown to pull votes from electors. Apparently the teachers contract was being debated at that time and it is not a conflict of interest for husbands and wives to sit on the board. Worried, you are worried? I think this community is in trouble and a popularity election could end in disaster for homeowners.

I see Fish has some issues with anger, it might be best to inStall some metal detectors at the administration building 24/7 for safety. You do have the option to move because unless things have changed recently, all students transition and join one another in town at the Junior and Senior High Schools. I totally support those representatives and encourage them to keep making the hard descissions which will benefit every child and taxpayer in OUR community. Like it or not, the Nippenose Valley is part of the Jersey Shore School District and that is just a fact. I would think that for all of the time and money spent to fight your Jersey Shore District Elementary school, it might have been better served to uplift it. I wonder what your children think, I know my grandchildren are excited to meet new friends.

You do all realize that you are completely out of touch with reality don't you? The amount for Charter School tuition is less than public school and I would check out annual yearly progress reports before enrollment. Each child is different and so are their needs. I get the impression that some people think that the quality of education in one school is far superior to another. My children attended JSE in the 70s and they all advanced way beyond their means as I did. Maybe I just got involved more in their education and overlooked negative surroundings. As for reductions in sports and unneeded curriculars, I totally agree with that observation. There is a YMCA and many civics organizations that could be utilized in and by the community. Please navigate your computers for what cost savings will compound to over ten years for closing Nippenose. Financial planning for the future is a plus and I am glad someone is thinking about the retired population.

I did not know****was costing the tax payers $15,000,000 to stay open. If it is by all means close the school. They will close the school and then spend $15,000,000 to do a massive 30,000 square foot addition to a building that sits on a swamp and need all new plumbing and heating. Then all of you will be paying extra taxes to send the kids from****to Sugar Valley Charter School. That's rite idiot the school district foots the bill at 10k per kid to go to a charter school. Everyone is gonna be saving a ton of money! Stop worrying about closing****and look at picture!

biobabycj, I would like to respond to your rant but it is difficult to understand your words. I would suggest the residents of the Nippenose Valley purchasing that building and creating their own school district. Laughin has a point... When that school cannot keep an educator who is told what to do and wants alot of money to do the deed, maybe they will learn a valuable lesson about ethics and education???? As a taxpayer, I do not want to be charged for building a smaller anything anywhere. Close the school and move on.
