I bet the citizens of Cyprus wished they had firearm rights today.

When someone comes to take my property, a firearm is the appropriate answer!

When a gov't starts the mass confiscation of private property, it crosses a line that must be opposed.

If you agree with the plan in Cyprus, you are a frightening human being.

CHayes:

I guess you missed the House hearings on confiscating all 401Ks and IRAs and having the money managed by the Social Security Administration?

Those hearings were held by Democrats in 2008.

Now, hazy/hughes the resident idiot, here are Erik's posts. He started out talking about gun rights in Cyprus, then segued into private property. My guess is that you shifted whatever you have instead of a brain to 'moron' and missed that...

You know who tries to take a discussion about one thing, and turn it into something entirely different? People without a leg to stand on.

Example: if you can't win a debate about banning the new manufacture, importation and sale of a very narrow class of firearms, simply lie, and say people are trying to ban and confiscate all guns.

Fact: There is not a single bill being considered anywhere in either house of the US Congress that calls for "confiscation" of firearms.

I guess you didn't read the letter half wit. Move to the back of the class.

Remind me again erik, who in the US govt has proposed a "mass confiscation of personal property"? Is there some bill I don't know about?

OK, dummy, where's the indication of, or reference to guns, guns? It seems to me that even the original quote from Erik referred only to 'personal property'. Yes, guns are a part, but not the entire set, of personal property.

"CHayes, You've got your facts all wrong. Weaver's son was shot outside the home and his wife was killed before the standoff started."

I don't have any facts wrong at all. Weavers son was killed outside after he opened fire at federal agents. His wife was killed by a sniper during the standoff.

Runmmel like most liberals do not see Obama as liberal as the right does, they want him to be more liberal in his governing.

Poor enigma you can dance all you wnat but you did not get what Rummel said. Liberal democracies work far better than conservative governing.

We have been hostages of an out of control federal government fo a long time, regardless of which of the two major parties have been in 'control'. Republican Presidents have been frighteningly like the Dumbascraps. After all, Nixon oversaw the creation of the unconstitutional EPA and OSHA, and GW Bush created the equally unconstitutional DHS. It's as if the two major parties are competing against each other to see which can do more damage to America.

I can't seem to recall when @gavinf56 has ever gotten the facts wrong. (Although we often disagree on conclusions.)

Are you sure it is not you in error?

Chuck, the key word in your post is "intellectual". Explains why Rummel has been very critical of Obama and believes he is seeking to destroy liberal democracy in the U.S. Refreshing to see a liberal who isn't just a blindly submissive member of the flock.

Chuck,"He researched, study, and tested liberal democracies which are the best guarentees of freedom and prosperity according to his research."

The problem is that today's liberals are not liberals in the classical sense. Before the Progressives assumed the title, liberal meant what libertarian means today. Modern liberals are Statists, to put it nicely, Communists to put it a bit more bluntly. There are other term you can use it you like, such as Fascist or Socialist. They all mean the same thing to me, government running everything. After that, everything else is semantics. So I agree with Rummel, when the government stays out of your life, you have freedom. I wish ours would do that.

Citing dates does not make it the truth. He did not read the Enable act passed that gave Hitler Totalitarian rights. How after 1933 the weapons and firearm industry expanded under Hitler along with Germanic nationalism which lead to German expansion of territories. How this brought together conservative forces against the liberals, intellectuals, Jeswish people of Germany. They also fanned the fear of communism and a takeover by Russia. How when the US troops reached Germany and the end of Nazi power they found multiple firearms especially handguns in the homes of German citizens.

The letter lies about the facts just like you enigma.

CHayes, You've got your facts all wrong. Weaver's son was shot outside the home and his wife was killed before the standoff started. There was no attempt to serve a warrant, only an armed attack. The same was the case in Waco. There was no warning, no attempt to peacefully enter the compound, just an all out armed assault with those evil military weapons, that only the military should have. How can people be so in love with government that anything it does is good (unless a Republican is President)?
