Reality check

March 19, 2013

Mark Twain said, “Truth is the most valuable thing we have. Let us economize it.” How many times has President Obama lied to us? Our V.P. is a complete buffoon....

hazy/hughes can be recipientof an entire litany of lies told by obama, and in the face of it all will aways say, "the fact is that nobody can provide a single instance of the president lying." it's just the way he is. liars support each other, especially leftist liars.

"At the same time, I've provided several examples of Republicans lying. If that doesn't tell you something, you should seek help."

That wasn't the issue, Hazy. The issue was YOUR statement that Obama has never lied. It has been proven that he has with the deficit and Guantanamo Bay for starters.

All you have done is deflect the argument by saying Republicans are at fault too. You just can't admit that your statement got blown out if the water.

" Facts mean nothing to him unless it's his facts."

Where are your facts again? They seem to be MIA. The fact is, nobody here can provide a single example of the President lying. How can that be?

At the same time, I've provided several examples of Republicans lying. If that doesn't tell you something, you should seek help.

"Here we go with the tired argument from the left that 2 wrongs make a right."

No that it is not it. The right should quit acting like they never lie about anything. The ones that need a reality check is the right for they clearly do not deal with reality.

As usual, it's useless to argue with idiots like Hazy. Facts mean nothing to him unless it's his facts.

I'm going to say that my favorite Republican lie of the last few years (or at least the one with the most entertainment value) was when Republican Jon Kyl took to the Senate floor to claim that "well over 90 percent of what Planned Parenthood does", which is an outright lie. Then when his top aide was called on it, said it "was not intended to be a factual statement".

That may have been the boldest lie in the history of the Senate.

"Here we go with the tired argument from the left that 2 wrongs make a right."

You may not be that smart with the math skilzz, but I'm still waiting for a legitimate example of the current President lying. I've provided plenty of examples of conservatives lying from a few weeks ago, to a few years ago, but I'm still waiting for someone to provide me a legitimate example of the current President lying. I mean, if "everything he says is a lie", it should be exceedingly easy to provide an example that will withstand any scrutiny at all.

"Obama lies every time he opens his mouth. I'll give you a couple lies. 'The attack on our consulate in Benghazi was caused by a video'"

And that is what the information he had at the time said. You do understand what a "lie" is, right?

"'I will cut the deficit in half in my first term'."

I'm pretty sure he said that before the guy you voted for twice drove the economy off the cliff. Again, not a lie.

"'My administration will be transparent'."

It's been the most transparent administration in history thus far. Or are you saying the Obama administration illegally uses private emails to conceal conversations from the public and the courts like the guy you voted for twice? I seem to recall the Bush administration claiming that a bunch of subpoenaed emails were "accidentally deleted".

The left always tries to deflect criticism. No accountability on their part for anything, just blame others.

"Who was Mark Twain to talk about truth? Wasn't his real name Samuel Clemens? Some truth Sammy!" *************************************

It's called a pseudonym or nom de plume. No lie or untruth. It's a pen name. It has been used by countless authors over centuries and used by many authors today. You failed to mention William Sidney Porter(O'Henry, H.H.Munro(Saki) Stephen King uses several pen names, as does Tom Clancy. Also, a lot of Music Stars and actors do not, or have not, used their own names(ex. Sting,Tina Turner,John Wayne,Marilyn Monroe). Are they all liars. I say no. Name changes or pen names are, or have been, used to connote an attempt to make that person more appealing and recognizable. Imagine John Wayne as Marion Morrison or Roy Rogers as Leonard Slye. Singers and authors do this all the time for various reasons. Definitely no untruths there.

How about this one: All legislation will be posted online at least five days before any votes are taken. He really held to that one, especially with Aunt Nancy's, "We'll have to pass it to see what's in it!"

So I tick off a half dozen egregious examples of Republican lies, and the only thing you can come up with is "the President raised Social Security tax", which is in itself a lie?

Someone's been into the Kool Aid, and I don't mean me.

" Republicans never lie. Recent report show how destructive a republican can be when Richard Nixon torpedo the Paris Peace talks in order to get elected President. Republicans are such liars."

The LTE was about the CURRRENT president's serial lying. Besides, we voted for change. And some people still think he meant positive change.

Also, see: Anything about critical thinking or ask a five-year-old if two (or more) wrongs make a right.

PSS. Past tense is hard.
