"How many times has President Obama lied to us?"

It's in the thousands, Ms. Krape. And, alarmingly, he was rewarded for doing so with reelection.

Hmmmmmm..."Economize" (per Webster): to use frugally.

Who KNEW (assuming this is an accurate quote) that Mark Twain foretold FAUX Noise?

Seeing-as-how he was such a STAUNCH anti-Imperialist, I can't believe the "conservatives"/1%ers/high-roller$ (of his days) were much-interested in anything he had to say.

Republicans never lie.

Recent report show how destructive a republican can be when Richard Nixon torpedo the Paris Peace talks in order to get elected President. Republicans are such liars.

How many times has the right lied to us about the govt planning "mass confiscations" of weapons? About Social Security? About a fantasy group called "Friends of Hamas" that has never existed? About gay people? About reasons to send our troops to die and be maimed in a foreign country that didn't attack us? About "death panels"? About Jeep moving all their plants to China?

Do I need to go on all day?

Hazy - "How many times has President Obama lied to us?"

Zero times.

From an Investors Business Daily story dated 1/7/13 after the sweeping Social Security Tax increase that affected millions of working class people making less than $250,000:

As a candidate in 2008, Obama said, "I can make a firm pledge" that "no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not ANY of your taxes."

So, Hazy, he's either a liar or lacks any kind of leadership ability to have this increase averted. Take your pick.

Tax increase? That's a pretty strange way to look at it. There was a TEMPORARY SS tax reduction given that expired. The tax then returned to it's old rate. It was plainly stated at the time that it was a temporary reduction in SS taxes.

Are you claiming that Social Security taxes are higher now than when the President made the statement you quoted? Because if not, I'm not seeing a lie anywhere but in your statement.

The Social Security tax rate in 2008 for employees was 6.2%.

The Social Security tax rate in 2013 for employees is 6.2%.

The President raised Social Security tax? Really? In the universe I live in, 6.2% is not greater than 6.2%.

The LTE was about the CURRRENT president's serial lying. Besides, we voted for change. And some people still think he meant positive change.

Also, see: Anything about critical thinking or ask a five-year-old if two (or more) wrongs make a right.

So I tick off a half dozen egregious examples of Republican lies, and the only thing you can come up with is "the President raised Social Security tax", which is in itself a lie?

Someone's been into the Kool Aid, and I don't mean me.
