We’ll know better next time

March 20, 2013

Dear Mr. Speaker of The House, You may have caved on the tax increases to avert the so-called fiscal cliff, but you held firm on the sequester. And guess what? The sky didn’t fall....

The cuts didn't start for me yet. DoD contractor here. I won't be laid off until sometime in April. Then I get a day off work each week without pay or a 20% pay cut.

Why do you folks insist on calling a RESUMPTION, of those taxes (that were temporarily cut and drove this Country's economy into-the-ditch), a tax-increase?

The Right insisted it would sacrifice our national-defense capabilities. I pretty-much EXPECTED that was their latest-and-greatest conspiracy.

Doesn't sound like a few of the folks here can understand that this is a process, it doesn't all happen on day one. Almost none of the furloughs have yet to happen. It is truly sad some folks here wish such ill on others. I wonder if the shoe were on their foot would they feel the same. I think not, always easier when it is someone else. But when these folks are off, not buying products or services, which will causes more layoffs and paying less local taxes these same folks likely will be the first to complain they have to pay more local taxes or that they are not getting their SSI check or services. One would think in today’s world they could turn off talk radio and TV long enough to see through the garbage these programs put out and realize they will say and do anything for money. It has nothing to do with what’s good or right for the people or country. It is all about the money. Some I guess are just too lazy and let others let them think for them….

...And, that the 1%ers/high-roller$ might survive, just FINE, without upgrading to THIS year's new models of yachts.

Liberals are so concerned with how much money another person earns....only because they want to take some.

Brilliant distantobsvr, just brilliant. They think the same about climate change or the destruction of our state by the gas industry. It is just a today thing, why worry about tomorrow? That is someone else's problem. I am sure down the line something will be cut from their precious greedy little fingers and they will be the first to post on here and complain and blame the government more and likely the left.

WILL YOU? I can't even tell you how many times I hear someone say this when it comes to politics and you know what, come time to vote, people go out and vote for the same crooked candidates that got them in this situation to begin with. Will any of you REALLY know better next time?

Whatta perfect sentiment, to describe those folks who'd assumed those temporary BU$HCO tax-cuts would be made permanent...and, proceeded to $PEND...rather than putting-away that "windfall" for a "rainy-day".

Sen. Harry Reid attempted to blame the deaths of seven US Marines on the sequester.

It shows what disgusting humans occupy the Democratic Party.

Erik it may not directly affect you but it may be a service that you indirectly use. Like it or not, the government is in our life daily. Might be the roads you travel, or the gas you put in your car.

Why would erik care if services are cut for veterans? It doesn't effect his life one way or the other.

And there we have the new Republican party's new mantra:

"If it doesn't directly effect MY life one way or the other, I don't care, and it can't be important."

How patriotic.

Tell us again little boobie about the square miles of the US that Obama and Romney (and Obama and McCain, and Kerry and Bush, and Gore and Bush) won. Why are the numbers the same for every election since 2000 again?

Poor gullible little boobie.

Rather than questioning my priorities, you could all ask President Obama. He granted an emergency $250 million grant to Egypt while the sequester is underway.
