Class144: He may be hazy, but he is right when it comes to the Veterans issues. That much is true.

Hi cheyenne.. if you are so inclined to learn something about the topic, might I suggest you google the topic/ book and listen to the people who were there and what they have to say about it? The person who hosts the program is of little consequence to the interviewees own words.. no?

Class, if you do not believe that the Johnson administration told many exaggerations and outright lies in regards to Vietnam that resulted in many thousands of unnecessary deaths, I believe you need to brush up some. Good day sir.

Hi erik.. you never answered my earlier question, why are you incapable of becoming a teacher?

Let me get this straight.. you find the the fact that the DHS, in which both r's and d's work, created by gw, apparently has put certain individuals name on some sort of list.. and this bothers you more than almost 2k dead american soldiers, countless more maimed for life and families destroyed, and hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi citzens killed or maimed, not to mention the fact that the war cost america more than 1 trillion, on the credit card? Yikes.. if this is true, the only thing I can think of to say to you is.. good bye!

Iraq had chemical weapons, just like Syria has them and just like hundreds of other countries. They are easy to make and easy to conceal.

This is a better world (not a perfect world) since we went into Iraq and eliminated that scum dictator.

I am proud of our troops and the mission.

What exactly did Obama achieve in Libya?

Hi gavin.. I admit I'm a little surprised.. what went a long way toward convincing me was the sheer number of high ranking individuals interviewed, the documentation they showed on tv, and the fact that the interviewees that spoke were present during the entire process. I also think it's telling that virtually no one has come forth and refuted any of the many claims, with the possible exception of tricky dick. No matter, enjoy your saturday, I'm going to alabasters for the first time today, I think it's on Pine..

Hi gavin.. rachel maddow hosted the event yes.. but that does not change the fact that a large number of people were interviewed for the book and the documentary and spoke their own thoughts.. republican congressmen, intelligence officials, support staff, journalists.. I guess all I can say is, if you have the time, read the book or watch the documentary- it would take 1 hour, and hear these individuals words for yourself..

...and while I will agree they cherry picked some intel (and I find that disturbing on a number of levels), that does not mean they intentionally lied.

Hi gavin.. the example of what secretaries rumsfeld wrote is only one example out of many provided in the document, far to numerous to list here. Yes, the documentary about the book was shown on msnbc.. imagine that, a progressive like myself watching a progressive channel, lol. Question, gavin, have you heard of or read the book, Hubris? Last nights documentary was a rerun, did you see it? I don't believe yourself or anyone would have much doubt after hearing interviews from such a wide range of intelligence officials or members of congress about what happened.

Hi erik.. I have figured it out, much like most of the world. Quite frankly, you are the one who is choosing to live in willful ignorance on this issue.. but, a simple google search on the book will provide you with a wide range of republicans who have explained exactly how they were duped. There is documentation from rumsfeld, that he wrote on 9/11, asking how the administration could use the terror attacks as a reason to invade iraq. Google it, erik, I can't imagine ignorance is a state you enjoy..

Buff:

You can keep pushing the belief that evidence was embellished or whatever, but a majority in Congress and the UN (including Russia and China) supported the war against Iraq.

So, either everyone's independent intelligence was faked (which would make Bush a genius) or everyone is really stupid (like Hillary Clinton)." - eriklatranyi

Read the book or watch one of the documentaries about the book Hubris. The documentary I saw just last night included interviews with republican congressmen who admit they were duped. These same republicans further admit that they were given 7 days to read the final intelligence report making the case for war, fewer than 1/2 dozen congressmen actually read the report before voting for war, and the report contained intelligence professionals honestly admitting much of their findings were speculative. The documentary also showed a hand written memo by rumsfeld , asking how to make the case for war in iraq, written on 9/11. Less than a week later, another document shown to the world by this documentary by gen. Tom Franks, asked the administration, how do we start a war w Iraq? Theres a whole lotta proof for ya, verify by googling Hubris.
